Packaging – The 9 mini eyeshadows are housed in a cute and classy eyeshadow mini palette with a transparent flip cover. I bought it for the reason that is is so cute and travel friendly, though I have almost all of the shades in full size.

Embark and Carbon are matte shades and I must say they are really useful. Embark is a lovely dark brown that can be used a transition color and for giving a smokey effect as well. Carbon is a matte black that has a stiff texture and requires some effort in blending. Apart from that, all the 8 shades are a must have,

Pigmentation – As you can see from the swatches all the shades except Carbon are super pigmented. The swatches are without any base or primer so you can see the intensity.

Texture & Formula – All the shimmery shades have an amazing texture. They apply and blend so beautifully. Embark also has a smooth texture and is easy to blend. Carbon is the only shade that I am not fond of. I use it only to set my kajal but it is a good add on to the kit as an eyeshadow kit must have a brown and black for Indians. I also use a mix of embark and carbon to fill my brows.

Staying Power – I am happy that they have not compromised on the quality of these shadows. All of them are like the permanent collection ones and stay put for a decent 4-5 hours without creasing. I prefer using an eye primer always.

Ricepaper is a beautiful highlighter for fair-medium Indian skin tones but sadly it does not work for deeper skintones so that can be a disappointment for some ladies.

MAC Light Festival Eyeshadow Palette Diwali Lights Collection is priced at Rs. 3100 for 9 shades. Limited edition. Available at MAC stores.

Overall Thoughts:

MAC Light Festival Eyeshadow Palette is surely a winner for those who do not have any MAC eyeshadows. It is a perfect travel palette that can slip into your handbag anywhere.

Go grab it soon before they sell out.
