Lakme Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick Coral, Pink Review Photos Swatches

Lakme has launched quite a lot of products recently and they are kind of hit and miss for me. As much as I like everything from the new limited edition illuminating range, the foundation failed to impress me. My recent pick were illuminating shimmer bricks that reminded me of Bobbi Brown Shimmer bricks, however these have a different shape and less glittery formula. Believe me I was skeptical but picked both out of curiosity. Now that I have tried both , let me share my thoughts.

Sabyasachi Edition of Lakmé Absolute Illuminate products have two Illuminating Shimmer Bricks.  Coral and Pink, two gorgeous blush palettes and a total of eight fabulous colours that will bring alive the perfect combination of shimmer and hues! 

Packaging is quite simple. Lakme Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick comes in a large plastic pan with a clear lid. I find it quite functional but not sturdy. Well I don’t want to complain since you get 10 g of product at a reasonable price.

Shades – The illuminating shimmer brick comes in two shades – Coral & Pink. I was unsure about coral since I don’t enjoy that hue much, but the product in the pictures looked to good to pass on. I am actually really glad that I ordered both.

Coral Shimmer Brick has 4 strips of colors – Bright Coral, Peach, Bronze & Light coral. You can use the shades individually or swirl the brush in the pan and get a mix of shimmer & colors. The hues when blended together become a beautiful coral blush highlighter.

I don’t like highlighters or blushes with too much glitter but these one offer more sheen that chunky shimmers. I really enjoy this shade on me. This would be perfect for summer !

Pink Shimmer Brick, I love pink blushes. This one looked so pretty in pan that I couldn’t help but swipe a bit of it on my bare face, and it looked so so beautiful ! There are again 4 shades – Berry Pink, champagne, bronze & pale peach

Texture & Formula – I love the buttery texture of these illuminating shimmer bricks. They have a soft smooth texture, the powder is very soft so you will observe a little fall out each time you swirl the brush in the pan. Best part is that the formula blends beautifully and doesn’t look too shimmery. I never apply shimmer bricks as highlighters since they are packed with shimmers (most of the times) but these can surely work as blushes. Beautiful formula !

Pigmentation – Really good, You can build the color easily. Best is to apply in layers.

Overall Thoughts

I am very impressed with the Sun Kissed Bronzer, Moon Lit highlighter & Shimmer Bricks from Lakme Absolute Illuminating range. All the three products are buttery smooth and have beautiful color payoff. Texture of Illuminating Shimmer Brick is soft & easy to blend. These are limited edition products and you should grab at least before they fly off the shelves 🙂
