As always I got super excited just by the teasers posted by Maybelline. I have The Nudes Palette and it is more or less my preferred eyeshadow palette these days. I like the selection of wearable warm tone shades. Though the pigmentation isn’t amazing, but still it works decently. I have already seen international youtubers reviewing The Blushed Nudes palette and their verdicts weren’t great ! I hesitated a bit before buying this palette, but bought it anyway after receiving requests of its review on my snapchat (SimplyShalini) and Youtube Channel .
The Blushed Nudes palette comes in this pretty rose-hued palette. I really liked the look of it, however missed a mirror in it. I prefer palettes with a mirror that makes it travel friendly. The palette also comes with a dual ended brush that for a change has a brush tip on one end and sponge tip on the other.
The palette has a mix of frosty shimmer shades and one matte. By just looking at the palette I could guess that the shades aren’t indian skintone friendly and might not show up well. The first row specially has only two dark shades and rest are quite light.
The second row somehow has promising pigmentation as well as shades. Though you would need a good eyeshadow base for them to show up well.
Texture of the eyeshadows varies from color to color. The lighter shades have sheer formula and shimmery texture. The darker shades have a smoother and more manageable finish.
I have swatched all the shades on bare skin. With an eyeshadow base they show up slightly better.
Pigmentation , is sheer to medium. Darker shades have a better color payoff with a smoother texture. Lighter shades are shimmery & less pigmented. The matte shade has surprisingly smoother creamy texture which makes it a good crease/ transition shade.
Staying Power – I have used NYX Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil in yogurt as a base. The shade is bronzy/ champagne and worked pretty well for the rest of the eye makeup.
I also have L’Oreal LA Palette Nude Rose that has more of less the same pigmentation / color payoff. I guess brands have to understand that not all the palettes are indian skintone friendly.
You can buy Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette for Rs 899 from Nykaa
Overall Thoughts
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette didn’t impress me at all. The lighter shimmery shades lack pigmentation. The darker shades are still good and have a better color payoff. I doubt if without a base the colors would show up on the eyes. A very average palette I must add.

Though the shades look pretty on the palette, they all are cool toned which is kind of disappointing.

I think this palette would be apt for fair to medium skin tones. On dusky tones I doubt if all the shades show up. But the palette is cute 🙂
