Avon Ultra Color Matte lipstick Lilly (Rs 375 for 3.8g) available through AVON repsAvon always launches exciting new products almost every other month. One products that never fails to impress me is their lipstick, no matter what the formula is. I have already reviewed previous launches AVON Ultra Color Lipsticks & AVON Totally Kissable Lipsticks on the blog. Brand has recently launched their matte lipsticks and I have one shade to review today. Packaging is no-fuss, simple classic black plastic case.Shade – Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick Lilly is a pretty pink with plum undertones. The color looked like a MLBB shade in the bullet but once I applied it on, the shade looked lot more lighter and not-so-complementing against my NC 42 skin tone. I believe this particular shade would look amazing on NC 40 and below.

Texture & Formula – Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick isn’t completely matte, I found the formula more on more creamy-matte side. It has a soft buttery texture that glides on smoothly without tugging or pulling, however it just sits on the top without actually moisturizing my lips. It doesn’t turn matte after sometime and on me it looks slightly crumbled after 1 hours or so. I can also see formula setting in the lip lines. So applying a lip balm beforehand to prepare lips is always a good step.Pigmentation – Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick has awesome pigmentation. I only need one – two swipe to cover my lips. You can see in the swatch above how opaque the finish is.

Staying Power – Since the formula and finish both lean on creamy-matte side, Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick Lilly tends to fade in 3-4 hours. It depends how much you eat or drink. The shade doesn’t leave any tint or stain behind.

Overall Thoughts

I liked how pigmented and creamy Avon Ultra Color Matte Lipstick is. The formula has a creamy matte finish and glides on like a butter. Only hitch is the staying power , it lasts for only 3-4 hours on my lips. However the color itself will be very flattering on fair to medium complexions.
