MAC 219 Pencil Brush (Rs 2100)
I have been using MAC 219 since pretty long time and find this brush really helpful for precise deposit of colour in inner corners and to smudge eye shadow or kohl on lower lash line or even for really fine defining in the crease – Cut Crease work. This is again one of the best selling MAC brush and is hard to dupe in any other brand just like – MAC 217 and MAC 239. This is my 3rd review for MAC brush and I highly recommend you to pick one of these if it’s available at old price.
This is what brand has to say – For precision shading on lid, in eye crease or along lash line. The soft, smooth fibers of this brush are gathered into a pencil-shaped tip. It is ideal for blending eyeliner into eye shadow to create a smoky looking eye. M·A·C professional brushes are hand-sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials. They feature wood handles and nickel-plated brass ferrules.
Shape – The brush handle is good enough to give good grip and pretty well rounded tip for easy handy application, the white natural bristles are tightly packed and the pointed tip provides a good grip. The brush is rounded and has tapered edge which gives crisp grip as the firmness gives nice control even if you are new to eye makeup.
Usage – MAC 219 brush is particularly useful for –
Precise application of colour on lower lash line.
To define the crease for cut crease work.
To smudge the eye shadow / kohl on lower lash line.
Application of highlighter in inner corner of the eyes.
Cleaning of brush – I use this mostly for lower lash line which means either it is a kohl or a darker shade so it gets dirty quite frequently . I have washed this several times and it hardly sheds. The brush is in good shape even after 3 – 4 years of regular use.
Overall Thoughts –
I recently picked a backup of MAC 219 brush at 1550/- INR which was their old price, they increased that to 1700/- and recently to 2100/- . If you happen to see this brush at old price then definitely grab one for you as there are not many options in India market. The brush is well constructed and different from any other pointed brush I have seen lately.
