MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush (Rs 2550)

I have this brush for years and one fine day I suddenly stopped using it and the reason, I managed to get my hands on MAC 226 limited edition brush but recently when my eye shadow started looking too harsh , I gave this a shot and voila it gave me such excellent results and here is me reviewing this.

For controlled eye shadow application. This brush has soft fibers which taper to form a medium size dome shape. M·A·C professional brushes are hand-sculpted and assembled using the finest quality materials. They feature wood handles and nickel-plated brass ferrules.

Size – 17 cm, Price – $ 32 plus Tax which is more or less 2200/- INR

Shape – MAC 224 brush barrel is rounded and the bristles are loosely packed giving it a good control over powder product. It blends seamlessly and I find this an excellent brush for blending more then 217 and for beginners it is a great brush. I also use this for highlighters as it’s not too big and the dome shaped natural bristles place the colour nicely on cheek bones and it doesn’t look patchy or harsh.

Useful for – The brush is excellent for blending in the crease after placing colour or even if you want to use it directly by dipping in eye shadow and then blending in, then also it is good brush. I use it for the crease colour and for brow bone as it is very fluffy and doesn’t leave any harsh lines.

Another great use of MAC 224 brush is, which I usually do is – placing the highlighter on cheek bones and brow bone as it is small and very fluffy. The bristles pick the powder product nicely and put them in right place with slight movement and never gave a moment of regret to use this for placing highlighter.

Cleaning – The brush is very easy to use as it does not get dirty very easily due to black natural hair and then the fluffiness keeps it cleaner. I have washed this so many times and there was hardly any shedding, it is still good enough to last me years. Check out review of 3 more MAC Eyeshadow Brushes 

Overall Thoughts

I have love and hate relationship with MAC 224 brush , I use to love this one a lot and then I picked 226 Limited edition but recently I again started using it and now am already thinking of a backup for this one but look at the price  ? If you have started playing with colours recently then please give this a shot.
