Being someone with dry skin I just can’t do without regular pedicure, even then sometimes I get dry feet/ankles. To prevent that I make sure to use a foot file during bath everytime however there are some days when I don’t have time even for that. Cracks appear and get deeper if left unattended. When I heard about Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi , I decided to give it a shot and see how well it works.

The device looks bulky but isn’t difficult or heavy to handle/operate. To start it you have to twist the silver ring (In the middle of the device) and the roller head starts rolling. Roll it over hard skin on your feet , without leaving it at one place longer than 3-5 seconds. The roller looks like buffer stone but doesn’t hurt or feel abrasive. Though I wouldn’t recommend using it on very cracked heels, it isn’t much effective and using it longer that recommended time will give you sore feet/heels.

Device is battery operated and the head can be replaced easily.

I use it on dry feet because it doesn’t work on my damp feet. Once the Micralumina head starts rolling you can see dead skin flying like a mist across the room, well it looks weird at first, but the moment you start noticing smoother skin it becomes fun. I finish off my quick pedicure with School Foot & Nail Cream, which is my long time favorite.

Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi surely makes my feet softer and smoother, however it doesn’t work on deeper cracks. The design doesn’t allow it to work around toes, its big for that. I get a lot of dry rough skin around foot thumb and it doesn’t reach/fit there properly. Also due to the fear of sore heels I didn’t really use it for that long and even then it took me a long time to get smoother feet (5-7 minutes each heel)

Cleaning the roller head is very easy. I clean it either using a dry cloth or keeping it under running water for few minutes.

Overall Thoughts

If you have dry feet, that get all crusty easily, try Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi. It is easy to use and helps get rid of dry rough skin, however I wouldn’t recommend it on heels with deeper cracks. Its good for quick after pedicure touch ups.
