Lakme Absolute Shine Line Liquid Gold, Sparkling Olive Review Photos

My makeup is incomplete without eyeliner. Generally I wear black or brown eyeliners but sometimes a dash of color brightens up the face even when you are walking out without makeup. I have couple of colored pencil eyeliner, but none on liquid form. Lakme Absolute Shine Line isn’t a new product but relaunched with Lakme Sabyasachi Illminating Collection. I received two shades – Lakme Absolute Shine Line Liquid Gold & Sparkling Olive.

Lakme Absolute Shine Line comes in a black cardboard packaging. The actual product is in a transparent tube , which is such a big advantage when you have too many of these. The liner has a brush tip with is quite thin, which is both good & bad. Good for getting precise line and crisp wing, bad for those who aren’t familiar with brush tip liners. I am myself not very comfortable with brush tips and it will take some getting used to.

Shades – Both the shades Sparkling Olive & Liquid Gold are so beautiful. The gold is olive toned gold and isn’t that blingy, perfect for daytime too. I wore it over my black liner for a dash of bling and it looks subtle yet gorgeous. Sparkling olive is also a gorgeous green and I enjoy it too.

Texture & formula – Both the Lakme Absolute Shine Line formulas are quite liquid-y. They have a sheen to them and aren’t glittery which is something I always prefer. The stroke is always neat without going over it. Liquid Gold has a better opacity than Sparkling olive.

Formula of both the eye liners is smooth and easy to work with. It dries and sets quickly. However I can see it looking a bit wrinkly after drying completely.  You can also check the review of Shine Line Black

Pigmentation – Like I have mentioned above, Liquid Gold is very pigmented and sparkling olive does need a bit of layering. These eye liners have surprised me , I wasn’t expecting them to be this good. Now I want to pick more shades, since these are quite affordable.

Staying Power – I get 5-7 hours of wear out of both the shades with is quite good. The formula doesn’t smudge, and can easily be washed with just water. It peels off and doesn’t spread around. Also my eyes are quite sensitive and none of them have caused irritation.

Lakme Absolute Shine Line Liquid Gold, Sparkling Olive is priced at Rs 450 each

Overall Thoughts

I am quite enjoying Lakme Absolute Shine Line Liquid Gold, Sparkling Olive. Both the shades are gorgeous and can be a good alternative to eyeshadows. Texture is smooth and metallic with no glitter chunks. You get a smooth finish in one stroke with Liquid Gold. Staying power is also good. Only downside is the runny and not-so-opaque formula of sparkling olive. I can’t wait to get more shades from this range.
