Lakme French Rose & Royal Persia Absolute Illuminating Eyeshadow Palette Review

Lakme has launched another set of eyeshadow palettes in Illuminating collection. It makes me happy to see india brands launching eye shadow palettes in various shades/ color themes. I remember around 4 years ago we used to get only eye shadow singles or quads, giving us less variety and more clutter. Lakme Absolute Illuminating Range has some beautiful products and I have been using these two new palettes for a while now. Let’s know if Lakme French Rose & Royal Persia Absolute Illuminating Eyeshadow Palettes are worth buying or not.

These palettes are small and compact. These come individually packed in black cardboard boxes. These palettes are shiny black plastic cases with opaque lid, which is an inconvenience if you have more than 1 of these palettes. But still the mirror inside and compact study case feels good quality.

Lakme French Rose Absolute Illuminating Eyeshadow Palette has warm red toned eye shadows. I love the color selection here, it makes for a perfect bridal palette or if you are a bride to be and need one palette then this has to be the it. However I miss more gold / bronze toned shades there which would have balanced the color theme. A dark black-brown shade would have made it a complete palette. Still I like it , for the quality .

Now Lakme French Rose palette has mostly matte shades with two shimmer formulas. I was skeptical about the matte shades since most of them are chalky in high street beauty brands. But to my surprise not only the eyeshadows are pigmented, they blend equally well. Except the pale gold shade all of the colors show up on me pretty well without a colored base.

As far as fallouts are concerned , i don’t see anything alarming. The brush that comes in the palette is not much of a use , you would need a nice eyeshadow applicator brush to use these. The swatches are one time swirl with no layering or primer. I think the pigmentation is pretty good. More you layer more opaque these become.

Moving on to the Lakme Royal Persia Palette, which has cool-toned shades. You can see blue, purple, pinks and a nice frosted cream pink color for brow bone highlighting.

When you are like me , with loads of neutral / warm toned palettes, a beautiful cool toned set of eyeshadows comes as a breath of fresh air. I am loving the colors in this palette, however instead of repeated blues I would have loved to see a black to balance the palette. There is no intense dark shade to help you achieve a smokey look or if you are like me and love to darken outer corners of eyes , then you might have to resort to a different palette.

I did create a look using Lakme French Rose palette and quite loved the softness of it. You can play more and come up with more looks using the same palette.
