Philips is one of those brands that keep coming up with innovative tools/ technologies to make our lives easier. All of my hair tools (dryers, straightener & curler) are from Philips only, its a brand I trust. You can check out the reviews of Philips Hair Straightener & Philips Air Straightener.  I was recently sent across the Philips KeraShine High Performance Tulip Styler, which is quite a unique device.

It has a beautiful purple color and Tulip Shape if you look at from the side. Its not like conventional hair straightener, where you have two plates that when pressed together straighten hair. This has a fixed design with two buttons on both the sides, which when pressed open the plates and allows you to insert chunk of hair to straighten them. You release the buttons and plates join and straighten or curl your hair.

You twist the styler and create loose waves. Due to its design chances of burning your hands or skin is almost nill. I have shot hair and curling hair at the back of my head is a pain, but which this I can curl them without much efforts.

Only downside is that you have to clip a big chunk/ part of your hair in the clips to straighten or curl them. You will only get big loose waves. With regular hair straightener you can create loose or tight curls just by adjusting the amount of hair inserted each time.

Keratin infused plates ensure shiny hair each time you curl or straighten them. The temperature goes up to 200 degrees which ensures smooth hair in no time without burning them. It heats up quickly so you can style your hair quickly.

Overall Thoughts

Philips KeraShine High Performance Tulip Styler is great option if you have long thick hair and you want to finish up the curling and straightening process as quickly as possible. However I don’t reach out to this one as much as I use the other straightener I have. It doesn’t work as efficiently as the conventional hair straighteners for me.
