Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon Review Swatches Photos

Eyebrows frame your face and being someone with uneven shaped brows (naturally) , this product is one of the essential steps of makeup for me. I never forget to do my brows since they make a lot of difference to the way my face looks + gives it a more defined and sharp edge. I have been using Nicka K Wooden Eyebrow Pencil for few weeks now and quite loving it. But if I see a new brow product, my hands start itching. So I picked Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon few days ago and have been using it off and on ever since.

This easy-to-use pomade crayon sculpts and tames eyebrows as it colors. Draw small strokes along the brow contour to achieve groomed, well-shaped brows.

Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon comes in a retractable fat tube. Now I think eye brows need precision and fat tip isn’t going to get that , and once it goes blunt you can’t really sharpen it, so I am unsure about its usefulness in the long run.

Shade – Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon is available in 2 shades , I picked the darkest one. The shade works just fine for me. It is dark and slightly taupe/ cool tones which is good even if you have dark hair. In any case the formula isn’t too opaque so it doesn’t look light on dark hair.

Texture & Formula – It is a creamy thick waxy feeling formula. The crayon glides on easily and fills in the bald spots quite nicely. However I strongly feel a need of an eyebrow pencil to do the precision work of shaping and then go over them with the crayon to set the hair in place. For everyday it is a good product since it has color and wax both and crayon packaging makes it pretty user friendly. But for days when you want your eye brows to look a little extra then do use an eye brow pencil first.

The pomade keeps the eye brow hair in place for a long time , in fact I have quite sheer brows and they need a lot of hard work to look good and it kind of works favourably.

Pigmentation – You can see in the swatch above that Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon has decent amount of pigmentation.

Overall Thoughts

For me there is no downside as such, only thing is that I still prefer my eye brown pencil over this pomade. Maybelline has launched an entire set/ range of brow products. But someone like me who has a kid and gets hardly 10 mins to get ready, the Maybelline Fashion Brow Pomade Crayon isn’t something I would reach out for.
