MAC Unlimited Style Lipglass (Limited Edition and part of a box)

It is a limited edition lipglass and a part of MAC’s new Look in a Box: Pink, which is priced at 4800/- INR. Two  more products from same Pink box have already been reviewed on the blog MAC Embrace Me Matte Lipstick & MAC Fabulous Three Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow

This was on my lust list for a while, especially after I saw the swatches online. MAC described this shade as bright blue pink with silver pearl, and I was sold on it immediately.

Shade: MAC Unlimited Style Lipglass is a nice blue-based pink, with tiny silver and pink shimmers in it which somehow ends up looking bluer on my lips. Although it looks quite dark in the box, and therefore scarier, it applies sheer, and that is one of the reasons why I think a little goes a long way. In the swatches I have applied two coats to show the color, but one swipe is all I need. I believe this would be easily carried off by fair to medium skin tones.

Texture and Formula: The texture of the lipglass is smooth, and I tend to apply one swipe, because two swipes make it bleed a good bit. The texture is quite sticky and thick, and a lot of the tiny shimmers ended up settling on my lip lines and does not go away until I use a makeup remover. MAC Unlimited Style Lipglass was slightly drying on my lips and I had to apply a balm underneath it from the second time onwards. Pigmentation: The pigmentation is not very much, so one swipe will give you a semi-sheer finish, but the pigmentation can be built up by applying carefully into a nice silvery fuchsia color. It does not cover much of the pigmentation on my lips though.

Staying Power: The staying power is quite good considering the fact that this was a gloss, and the lipglass wore to about 3.5 hours on my lips, with the shimmers settling on my lip lines a bit, but otherwise it stayed put. It does go away when I eat and/or drink, and transfers easily onto any surface.

Overall Thought

Although this is a great color for most skin tones, but I have to say that there are similar shades available (NYX Sugar Cookie, Bobbi Brown Electric Violet). However, if you like a nice pink gloss which would not be over the top and with loads of pretty shimmers, this is a good color.
