About: A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.

Shade- Constructivist is described as a metallic brown with red pearl. For me, it a gorgeous plummy brown with pearly finish that adds dimension to the shade. The shade is such that it can be used for almost all looks as a base as well as alone.

Packaging- The packaging is classic MAC having sturdy glass jar with a screw on black cap. It is easy to use however the mouth is quite big so the product can dry up faster. The only way to rescue it is by keeping the paint pot upside down. It is much creamier than MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot which I reviewed earlier. The formula is easy to apply and blend on to the lids. It doesn’t crease. The paint pot is smudge proof and crease proof and sets quickly. It prolongs the wear time of powder shadows and intensifies them.

Pigmentation- Constructivist is decently pigmented and buildable to full coverage. The sheen it has, adds to the beauty of the shade. One swipe provides light wash of shade which can be built up further as per need.

Staying Power- I have worn MAC Constructivist paint pot for about 6-7 hours alone and for about 10+ hours as base under powder shadow and both ways, it looks great. There isn’t any creasing and fading and it increased the wear time of my powder shadows. The paint pot is great for those who have oily lids.

Overall Thoughts

MAC Constructivist is one product that everyone should own as it can be used alone as well as a base. The shade, formula and staying power is amazing. I really like the creamier consistency of the paint pot as it is easy to blend.Constructivist is a great shade if you love wearing brown, plummy shade. It can be worn to office as well as for parties.
