MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot Review Swatches Photos

MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot (Rs 1100 for 5gm) can be purchased from MAC store.MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque (2)MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque (4)I have always loved Maybelline Colour Tattoos for their multipurpose usage and went ahead to buy this paint pot as it can serve similar purpose of being used as an eye shadow, eye shadow base.

About Paint Pots ‘A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners. ‘

ShadeAccording to MAC,Rubenesque is a golden peach with gold pearl. I completely second with this description. It is a beautiful golden-shimmery copper- peach shade. The paint pot is warm toned which makes it a very versatile shade for Indian skin tone. MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque (5)Packaging – The packaging is very much similar to MAC fluid lines having a small glass pot and a black screw up lid. The shade name is written at the bottom of the paint pot.It is sturdy but prone to breakage due to glass nature of the pot.

Texture & Formula – The texture of MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot is very smooth and soft. The shimmer present is very minute and so much mixed up in the formula that it doesn’t feel on skin. It is easy to apply and blends well. For best effect, I like putting one layer of the paint pot and let it get dry and then apply the second layer. By this way, it doesn’t crumble and looks more intensified. The upper layer of the paint pot dries after a period of time but a little rubbing with the brush will help it regain its creaminess. It can be used as eyeshadow and when used under powder eyeshadow, it provides metallic ,high frost look to them making them all the more pretty.

The formula is creamy and didn’t irritate my eye lids. I have used it on my lower lash line also and it did go into my eyes but didn’t react adversely . It is water resistant and water proof but comes off easily with an oil based cleanser.MAC Paint Pot Rubenesque (1)

Pigmentation – MAC Rubenesque offers sheer wash of peachy gold colour on lids on a single swipe which can be built up to full shade by 2 more swipes. It doesn’t feel heavy or flake on extra layering.

Staying Power – MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot stays for about 7-8 hours on my lids when used as an eyeshadow. When used as a base for eyeshadow, the eye shadow stays for good 8+ hours.

Overall Thoughts

MAC Rubenesque is a gem of a product for me as I prefer peach toned shades and this product serves as a great eye shadow as well as metallic primer for powder eyeshadows. I highly recommend buying this product. The only problem is slight drying of the top layer of the paint pot which can be removed or mixed with the product to renew it.
