Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation Review

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation ($46 for 8g)available at Bobbi Brown StoresBobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish compact foundation review (3)Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish compact foundation review (5)“Your can’t-live-without liquid foundation, now in a fuss-free compact.  Perfectly matched to skin tone and texture, it never looks fake or makeup-y, just like smooth, even skin. With 12 hours of flawless, oil-free wear, all you see is your skin – at its best. Plus, it’s completely portable, too – with a hidden sponge applicator right in the compact – so you look polished wherever you go.”

I am one of those girls who want exact matching shade of foundation, nothing lighter or darker works. Bobbi Brown foundations have amazed me and I have found my dream shade there. Warm Honey blends into my skin seamlessly and looks most natural.

Shade – I have been matched to Warm Honey in Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation. Infact I can always find warm honey in all Bobbi Brown foundations and  in concealers, no matter what the formula is. That makes my life so much easier. Bobbi Brown foundations come in 22 shades that means one can find their match very easily. Also foundations have yellow undertones so these will suit Indian skintone very well.Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish compact foundation review (4)Texture & Formula – Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation has creamy but not greasy consistency. It almost feels solid in the pan. I use my fingers to apply and blend the foundation in dabbing and sweeping motions. Despite of bring a cream foundation it doesn’t feel heavy. Formula doesn’t make my skin dry and I prefer to set it with some loose powder as my T-Zone tends to get shiny in hot weather.

Coverage  – Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation provides medium coverage that you can build up. It doesn’t look cakey whatsoever. However if you are hoping that this foundation will cover blemishes and scars completely, than you will be disappointed. A concealer is a must while concealing blemishes and marks.Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish compact foundation review (2)Staying Power – In hot humid weather & without primer Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation doesn’t stay for more than 3 hours on me. It starts sliding off from my T-zone, however it stays intact on rest of my face. With primer in similar conditions the staying power increases by 1-2 hours. However it stays on for good 7-9 hours if worn in cooler/ air conditioned atmosphere. I was really disappointed when it crumbled on the upper lip area when I worn it for the first time.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation photographs well and never looks grey. I haven’t worn any concealer in the picture below, just applied the foundation under the eyes. I am wearing Lancome Rose Sulfureuse Lipstick & Elf baked blush in Rich Rose.

Overall Thoughts

If you are looking for natural finish with medium coverage do try Bobbi Brown Long Wear Compact Foundation. I liked the finish which isn’t too dewy or greasy. Girls with Oily skin will have to powder it to keep shine at bay. Also despite of being a long wear foundation and sweat proof (as per the SA) it doesn’t stay on me during hot sweaty weather. I would love to wear it during winters as it will stay on longer and wouldn’t make my skin dry or patchy. Another downside is the price Vs quantity. Quantity is low for the price one pays.

If it stays for less time and is so overpriced then I better stay away from it, Thanks for the review and you are looking cute in the pic 😛

Arzoo Bobbi Brown falls under high end brands so price isn’t something I can complain, but yes at this price we at least look at some more product..

Lovely review .. I somehow dont like creamy foundations despite having dry skin, esp in Indian weather. I keep migrating to MUFE HD foundation and Estee Lauder double wear light on cooler days.

      Shalini

Thanks Shweta , Same here I am more of a liquid foundation person. I am yet to try MUFE..

Hi this is a really great review by the way! Just wanted to ask, I Am looking to get married soon and I don’t like the pasty and ghostly look! I have this same bobbi brown foundation and found the coverage was excellent! Do you think it would be good to use on my wedding day as opposed to a thicker foundation? I hate the cakey look and find this doesn’t give you that! Look forward to your reply!

      Shalini

Hi Raina I know what you mean by pasty and ghostly look but you atleast need a full coverage foundation that doesn’t melt off in heat ! Try MAC Prolongwear range

        Rania

Hi thanks for getting back to me. I find the MAC is too runny and makes me look orangey or muddy! It also leaves my skin looking cakey and giving me a break out! The bobbi brown is the best match so far but wondered whether it would be good as a bridal foundation? Someone mentioned kryolan foundation. My main aim is to build coverage with the bobbi brown though as the colour is, dare I say it, the most perfect match so far!
