Etude House Precious Minerals Any Cushion (S $ 24) from Etude House stores Etude House is a Korean Skincare and Makeup brand that I have been hearing about from a lot of people. Their packaging is delightfully playful and fun and their products also have a huge fan following.
Etude House Precious Minerals Any cushion is a makeup base created to even out any imperfections in your skin. It comes in a number of shades – mine is Magic Peach used to combat dullness. The product has an SPF34 / PA++
Packaging – The compact is shaped like a french macroon and is the box is pretty sturdy and large. When you open, there is a dual lid, the first one hold the sponge and you can then flip that open to reveal the cushion. The sponge feels a little rubber like but applies the product beautifully. I don’t actually think it absorbs any product like a traditional sponge, only assists in spreading it properly. The cushion holds the saturated product inside. I recall, many years back there used to be a Maybelline blush that used a similar packaging with the sponge. I can’t recall the name though.
Shade – This is called Magic peach and does look peach on the sponge. When applied, there is a bit of a whitish cast on application. You need to blend Etude House Precious Minerals Any Cushion carefully to avoid leaving streaks on your face. Once applied, my face looks a bit photoshopped, the blemishes are blurred and there is an overall look of clearer skin. The funny thing is, if you focus on the few blemishes, you can still see them, so this is clearly not a concealer. It just gives me an overall cleaner appearance. Formula and Texture – Etude House Precious Minerals Any Cushion feels like any liquid foundation or makeup once worn. It is however quite lightweight and you don’t feel at all cakey or heavy. There is a bit of a sheen that appears on application, and I am happy to use this on its own without adding makeup. As a makeup base it functions more like Benefits “That Gal”. It evens the skin tone but does not increase time of makeup wear. In that sense it is not really a primer. A lot of foundations primers have a high proportion of silicones and you can feel that when you apply them, not so in this case.
Staying Power – In the super hot Mumbai heat, Etude House Precious Minerals Any Cushion stayed on me for 3 hours before fading – and this was a day out in the sun. I am sure this will have a greater longivity in cooler weather. Also the swatch I applied on my hand lasted through a thorough hand wash and in fact that area felt water resistant whilst I was scrubbing my hands.
Overall Thoughts
Etude House Precious Minerals Any Cushion is a nice to have product but definitely not a must have. I like what is does to even out my complexion but there are a number of other products that give the same effect that are more easily available.
