Revlon Wine Not Powder Blush (Rs 550 for 5g) available at Amazon.comDuring one of my aimless wonderings in the mall I found this new launched blush by Revlon. What surprised me was that the store didn’t have testers ! I had to trust my gut and picked the darkest shade (as always). Revlon has launched 3 shades in Powder Blushes.
Packaging is similar to regular Revlon Powder blushes. It also comes with a small mirror inside the lid and a brush. The moment I opened the box, the blush pan fall out, thankfully in my hands. Apparently it wasn’t glued properly.
Shade – Revlon Wine Not Powder Blush is a deep berry color. I always love plum & berry shades for me, they go very well with my skintone. This shade will look good on all complexions especially medium to deeper skintones. Texture & Formula – Texture of Revlon Wine Not is very smooth & silky. It applies and blends really well. I can see some shimmers there but none of them shows up on cheeks. It rather has a nice satiny finish and I am a big fan of such finishes, as they give the illusion of healthy glowing skin. Formula is finely milled however I always see some fallouts after each application. It doesn’t feel chalky or powdery whatsoever. I am glad that the shade looked quite dark in the pan but looks so flattering when applied.
Pigmentation – Revlon Wine Not is sheer to buildable. On me one swipe doesn’t show up well, I have to layer it up. That makes it a safe blush, you can hardly over do it. however I had to press my finger hard in the pan and swiped it back and forth numerous times to get that swatch on my wrist.Staying Power – Revlon Wine Not stays on for good 4 hours and than gradually fades away.
I am using Wine Not more than my all time favorite MAC Mocha Blush. I don’t experiment with blushes often and if I have done so , it means I love the color & formula. The lipstick I am wearing in the picture above is Chanel Antigone Rouge Coco Shine
Overall Thoughts
I am bit addicted to this particular shade these days and wear it a lot. Only because the formula is silky and has nice satiny finish. Revlon Wine Not Powder Blush compliments my complexion and looks very natural. However I wish it were a bit more pigmented.
