I am going to share my experience of Parachute Advansed Olive & Almond Body Oil with you today. Winter is not the most skin-friendly season for me. My body skin is normal to dry during summer. Winter makes it even drier and stretchy. I have to keep applying layers and layers of moisturizer every few hours to prevent chapped skin.

Packaging: Parachute Advansed Olive & Almond Body Oil comes in a tall clear bottle. Its golden screw cap secures the bottle opening and makes it leak-proof. The viscous texture of skin and hair oils need air tight packaging.
They tend to ooze out of the cap quite easily. Parachute has kept the packaging very simple; just a plain label image and written details in the back. However, it’s a sturdy bottle. I have opted for the 400ml size; the biggest size of the range. Smaller sizes are also available for this.
Colour & Consistency: The body oil is transparent. It looks pale yellow in the bottle. It would look transparent and colourless as you pour it in small amount. The consistency is medium. It is neither thick like pure coconut oil nor airy light like argan oil. It is something in between.
Its main base is mineral oil. The natural oils are present in lesser quantity. If you don’t like mineral oil in your skin care, definitely skip this one. My skin does not react adversely with mineral oil so it works for me.
Fragrance: This oil has a light floral smell. The fragrance is soothing. Its theme is very similar to Parachute’s body lotions. The smell is not strong at all and does not stay long.
Quantity & Price: This body oil sells at Rs.250 for 400ml. This cost-effective body oil comes with alluring discounts during online sales. This oil is also available in 200ml size.
My Overall Thoughts
In plain word, Parachute Advansed Olive & Almond Body Oil is a mineral oil based body oil with fatty acids of coconut and oils of sesame, olive, groundnut and almond. There’s a common misconception around mineral oil and its adverse effects on skin.
In reality, mineral oil or petroleum jelly does not penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin. It sits on top of the dermal layers and prevents moisture loss from the skin. Mineral oil has no moisturizing benefit as such; it is actually an occlusive ingredient for skin care products.
Let’s talk about the results I got from Parachute Advansed Olive & Almond Body Oil. Since it is a mineral oil based product, I never apply it on dry skin before bath. If you apply oils before bath, the water can’t penetrate into your skin and the skin would stay dry even after bath. I apply this on my slightly damp skin.
The oil keeps my skin moist for the day and prevents flakiness. The skin does not get greasy if applied in moderate amount. I don’t have body acne. This one didn’t cause any rash or clogged pore issues as well. I would suggest this oil to normal to dry skin people who don’t have body acne issues.
