The other day I was scrolling their page and this Oriflame Giordani Gold Iconic Lip Elixir Ruby Red caught my eye. The colour seemed very nice and appealing and the formula seemed promising too.
I immediately thought of getting my hands on it and so I got it. And today I will share with you what I feel about this lipstick.
As you all know I love trying out new lipsticks and different formulas. As much as I like my everyday nudes, I like wearing bold colours as well. An iconic red lip never goes wrong and I love different shades of this hue.
I am fond of Oriflame when it comes to skincare, haircare and makeup and have tried quite a few of their products. They have a good variety of options to choose from when it comes to makeup.

Packaging – The lipstick comes in a black and gold cardboard box which has the name and number of the shade along with other details written on it. On opening the box, the lipstick comes in this luxurious sleek cylindrical bottle.
The colour of the lipstick can be seen at the bottom, so it becomes easier to identify. The shade number and name are also mentioned at the bottom. Overall it feels very classy and luxurious and can be carried easily as well.
Formula – This Oriflame lipstick has a very rich and thick formula and contains Argan oil in it. It says that it is an oil to matte formula and when I applied it for the first time, it felt too creamy and looked glossy.
But when I gave it about a minute to settle down on my lips, it dried down completely matte.
Texture – This lipstick has a very unique feel on the lips. It doesn’t dry out my lips and feels very comfortable because of the presence of Argan oil. However, it does feel a bit heavy and I can feel that I’m wearing a lipstick every time I wear this.
Colour – This colour Ruby Red is very rich warm toned red with a slight hint of pink. It is not that bright popping red and is very unique on its own. I like how it looks on my lips and people ask me about the shade every time I wear this lipstick.
Pigmentation – It is highly pigmented and fully opaque so all I need is just swipe across my lips. I do not feel the need to neutralize my pigmented lips since this lipstick covers it all which like.
Also, the doefoot applicator makes the application of the lipstick easy. However, I wish the applicator had a pointed tip and not a flat one because it becomes a bit difficult to reach the corners of my lips and it messes up the application sometimes.
Staying power – The lipstick lasts about 6 hours without consuming any food. However, it starts to fade from the centres of my lips if I eat or drink something and transfers a lot!
It is not transfer proof and I need to be very careful while I eat or drink something. But after a couple of transfers it stops to transfer and leaves a very nice tint on the lips.
Quantity and price – The Oriflame Giordani Gold Iconic Lip Elixir Ruby Red comes in a 3.5 ml quantity and costs ₹ 1099, which according to me is a bit steep. The quantity is very less when compared with the price.
The formula and colour payoff are good, but I feel either the price should have been lesser, or the quantity should have been more.
My overall thoughts:
I do like this lipstick and how it feels on my lips. The colour is also very pretty, and it comes with SPF 15 too, so that’s a good thing. However, I wished it didn’t transfer much and came with a decent price and quantity.
Oriflame is a really good brand and I like most of its products, but this lipstick could have been better. The applicator is also a bit tricky to work with in the corners of my lips.
I will apply Oriflame Giordani Gold Iconic Lip Elixir Ruby nonetheless whenever I feel like wearing this shade and formula. But if you don’t wish to spend this much for a lesser quantity, you can skip buying this lipstick.
