Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer Review Photos Price

This festive season I have decided to try out Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer. I have larger looking pores and textured skin. Good skin care has helped a lot in pore minimization but I still need something to blur out the pores while applying foundation.Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer Review Photos Price

Primers come in dewy or matte formula. The main ingredient for primers is skin-friendly silicone compounds. They spread themselves on top of the pores and bump of the skin and make your skin smoother. A good primer also helps the foundation to blend into the skin easily and increases the lasting power of your makeup.

My cousin bought Nykaa primer last year. It worked great on her skin so I thought; let’s try this on me as well. Primers are supposed to make your skin look flawless. Did Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer keep its promise? Let’s find out.

Colour & Consistency: Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer is a transparent gel. The texture is thick and has a dry oil kind of feel. This is a purely silicone based primer. Generally silicone based primer come with a handful of filler ingredients and stabilizers.

To my surprise, this one is not among them. The less the ingredients will be, chances of adverse reaction will reduce as well. That means this primer will be suitable for every skin type including sensitive skin.

Fragrance: This is a fragrance free product. Other than adding an aesthetic value to your makeup product, fragrance does not do anything. Fragrance producing chemicals often irritate sensitive skin.

Also, fragrance makes your product expire sooner. These are the reasons why I always refrain from makeup items with fragrance. I really like this primer because it has no added fragrance.Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer Review Photos Price

Quantity & Price: This primer is priced at Rs.549 for 30gm. Right now, this has no other size available. This is the only size you get. This is a bestseller product from Nykaa. Naturally, Nykaa does not give more than 10% discount on it even at sale time.

I bought it at 499 from Nykaa’s last Pink Friday sale. Nykaa recently hiked the price by Rs.50. You might have to buy it on full price.

My Overall Thoughts

I have oily to combination skin. I have always thought primers as unnecessary additions to my face makeup routine. Naturally, my face looked textured and foundation used to break down from sebum in just a few hours. I have always blamed foundations for it until I tried my hands on this primer.

I always buy makeup cautiously because of my acne issues. I hate sudden acne flare ups. I look for non-comedogenic makeup items and prefer fragrance free ones. Nykaa Prep Me Up! Face Primer ticks all my boxes. Its silicone based formula spreads evenly and sets without oily residue.

I let it stay on the skin for 1-2 minutes and then proceed with foundation. This Nykaa primer helps the foundation to stick to my skin. It has also increases the stay time of makeup. It blurs out the pores to some extent. I live in a very humid place. Foundation meltdown is common thing here in summer.

This foundation hasn’t been able to create a full-proof base like those high end primers. Still, the performance is good considering the price range.
