The reason I went ahead to try the Rebel Bouquet collection was mainly because of the packaging! It looked so beautiful with floral designs that I wanted to own at least one of them. The SA was showing me some deep colours from this range but I am not a very deep colour person, especially during the summers. Since the concept was floral, I insisted her to show me some summer colours. She still was bent on making me wear a red from the range! That’s when I took over and came out with two lovelies, Maybelline Reb 05 and Reb 07!

Product Claims – Pastel bright pigments with honey nectar.

Packaging – Maybelline Reb 05 Reb 07 Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks are packed in a regular Maybelline Colorsensational packaging, much like the Bold Mattes to be precise. It has a long, cuboidal, red translucent cap over a silver interior. Of all the lipsticks available in the market I find their packaging most stylish and convenient. The shade name is written in a colour coded sticker at the back of the lipstick. Unfortunately the floral REBEL written plastic coating on the lids are to be removed while opening the seal and once it is done the packaging is no more exciting! L I have, with some clever manifestation managed to pull up the plastic seal to an extent from where the lipstick can be opened without having to pull out the whole plastic sheath! Kudos to me! :p (refer pictures)

Shade- 05 is a true vibrant orange that is a lot similar to Mac Morange. The shade is an electric bright super hot colour and is a true orange with slight red undertones. This is an absolutely gorgeous shade and on a hot summer day I look like delicious orange popsicle when I wear it! :p Such beautiful oranges are hard to come by especially in the drugstore circle.

07 is a beautiful muted rosy pink shade with ever so slight about of mauve undertones to it. This is my favourite of the two and I have worn it many times already as it is the more wearable shade of the two. This adds the right amount of colour to the lips and also gives a fresh look to the face.

Both the shades are suited for fair to medium complexion.

Texture – These are very creamy and glide like a dream on the lips. The texture is soft and has the tendency to melt a little during the summer months. It has no particular smell.

Pigmentation & Finish – Both the lipsticks are insanely pigmented and provide opaque coverage in 2 strokes. Both will hide pigmentations on the lips. The lipsticks apply like any regular crème finish lipstick but after a minute it sets into a satiny finish with a healthy glow. It is not a matte finish lipstick but is more of a crème finish with a lovely shine to it.

Staying Power – I have never experienced a wear time of 3+ hours from a crème finish lipstick. But this one stayed on for more than 6+ hours on me. Yes you heard me right! Once it sets there is no budging or smudging! It is not really transfer-proof as it does transfer a little on cups when drinking. But the intensity of it on the lips remains intact and both of them survived a heavy meal on me. It fades away evenly leaving a pretty stain on the lips.

Overall Thoughts

I love my Maybelline Reb 05 Reb 07 Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks and am wearing those quite often this summer. I love matte formula but then I get tired of it sometimes and these come to my rescue. These are long wearing so I hop the day off without having to worry whether my lippies stays in place or not. I am really impressed by this unique formula and the lovely shades.
