Makeup Revolution Girls On Film Eyeshadow Palette (Rs 1085)

I did haul some products from Makeup Revolution earlier this month. This brand is available on Jabong and I saw them on 50% off, an offer I couldn’t pass. I have already reviewed and raved about Makeup Revolution Radiant Light Glow & Breath and now its time to talk about the most awaited product – Makeup Revolution Salvation Eyeshadow Palettes.

Packaging is really classy. Black reflective cover with a full sized mirror inside the lid. It feels sturdy and high end. Its not something you see often at such in affordable product.

Shades – Girls On Film Eyeshadow Palette has 18 shades. 12 shades have shimmery, pearly finish and 6 shades are matte, most of them are neutral. I mostly use the bottom row, shades are perfect for daily wear or daytime makeup.

Girls On Film has neutral shades. Gold, bronze, burgundy, purples, gunmetal & couple of highlighter shades. I have used most of the shades from the bottom row and texture of those is surprisingly creamy. They blend and apply nicely. Black shade, which I find chalky in most of the palettes, is also quite smooth. However I had a tough time working with rosy-coppery shade in 1st row & gold shade in 2nd row, two of the most beautiful shades in the palette. Both of them were quite shimmery and didn’t show up nicely when applied, no matter how many times I tried to layer them.

Rest of the shades are quite easy to work with. I especially like the purple one in the 2nd row which is what I used to do my eye makeup in my recent video. Its a beautiful pigmented shade.

This is the look I have done using purple eyeshadow as a main color and 3rd shade from the matte row in the crease & 6th as brow-bone highlighter. 

Overall Thoughts

I love Makeup Revolution products however Girls On Film has turned out to be an average eyeshadow palette with some hits & misses. Shimmery eyeshadows look beautiful when swatched however some of them don’t work well on eyelids. I am quite fond of all the matte neutral shades from the bottom row and would be using them in my future videos/makeup looks.
