I am a matte formula lover these days, but there are days when my lips don’t agree with the formula. I mean when they are chapped and extremely matte lipstick would enhance the grossness, that time I turn to L’Extraordinaire Mat Lip Colors. I have reviewed Gullmet Fuchsia already, today I am going to share two more shades from the range – L’Oreal Piggalle Scarlet (105), Montiagne Brick (103).
Packaging is pretty simple and classy. A rose gold case with the shade peeking through the small window (don’t know what to call it) front & transparent bottom. These come with an oval shaped sponge applicator, which is saturated with color.
Shades – L’Oreal Piggalle Scarlet (105) is a classic red & Montiagne Brick (103) is a medium brick shade. It looks pink-neutral in the image above due to flash. In person both the shades are darker than how they appear in the swatches. I love both the shades, infact all the 3 shades I own (Including Gullmet Fuchsia) .
Texture & Formula – I would describe the texture as a velvet creamy matte lipstick. Its velvety when it glides on, smooth with no tugging or pulling, covering any chapped area and not settling in the fine lines. Being a creamy lip color it doesn’t bleed outside lip lines. I really like how pretty it looks post application. Finish is creamy which sets into semi-matte after a couple of hours.
Pigmentation – Both L’Oreal Piggalle Scarlet , Montiagne Brick are very pigmented. One stroke is enough to get even & opaque application of color, covering any pigmentation or discoloration.
Staying Power – On me both the shades stay on for 4-5 hours. The darker ones leave a slight stain and have a better staying power.
L’Oreal Piggalle Scarlet (105), Montiagne Brick (103) Color Riche L’Extraordinaire Mat (Rs 950)
Overall Thoughts
If you are done with dry matte lipsticks and looking for a better forgiving formula than do give L’Oreal Color Riche L’Extraordinaire Mat a try. Both Piggalle Scarlet, Montiagne Brick are extremely pretty shades and would suit almost all skintones. Only downside for me is the price which is obviously on the higher side.

Beautiful Lip Swatches Shalini. I am obsessed with Marais Magenta from the same range. Price is a downer however.
