Biotique Bio Chlorophyll Oil Free Anti-Acne Gel Review Photos Price

I have been using the Biotique Bio Chlorophyll Gel for more than 4 years now. I don’t even remember the number of tubs I have gone through. It is like one of those products you use and which have been there in your stash for years and you never really talks about them. It’s not like that you don’t love them; it’s just that they are so much a part of your routine that you hardly remember about them. So when I saw Shalini’s YouTube video about her top six picks from Biotique, I got thinking about my favourite products. And this one certainly holds a place in that list.

Product Description

This refreshing, anti-bacterial moisturizer is blended with chlorophyll and extracts of seaweed, sea algae, aloe vera and gum arabic to tighten pores, avert blemishes, and keep skin nourished and clear without flaking.

How to use

Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, morning and evening, to refresh skin. Also recommended for post hair removal, to soothe and condition the skin against redness and irritation.

Ingredients

Chlorophyll is the green in all plants, meant to absorb and harness the energy of the sun involved in photosynthesis. It is highly valued for its antiseptic and soothing properties.

Chinai ghas (Gelidium amansii), Kuda (Holorrhenna antidysenterica), Ghrit kumari (Aloevera indica), Kikkar gaund (Acacia Arabica), Samundir Kai (Gelidium amansii), Himalayan Water Q.S.

Packaging – Biotique Bio Chlorophyll Oil Free Anti-Acne Gel comes in two variants 50gm and 175 gm. It comes in the signature Biotique light and dark green cardboard box. The actual product comes in a white opaque plastic tub with a green screw able cap and a stopper on the inside. The packaging is very basic. The 50 gm variant is perfect to travel with.

Texture, Consistency & Fragrance – As the name suggests, it has a gel like consistency. It is a transparent green gel. It has a jelly like texture and a smells like the way green plants do. The green colour is due to the Chlorophyll present in the plants. When you apply it to your skin it feels a bit sticky n gloopy, but after a minute or so it settles down dry.

My Experience

I do not have acne or acne prone skin. But I do have a very sensitive skin. When I thread my eye brows or upper lips or wax my arms n legs. I get these red bumps all over, sometimes even boils. And instead of waxing, if I shave also, I get these ingrown hairs and little bumps and bruises. So that’s what I use this gel for.

As soon as I wax or thread I apply a thin layer of Biotique Bio Chlorophyll Oil Free Anti-Acne Gel to those areas as soon as possible and massage it in. It cools down my skin which feels hot after waxing. Within a few minutes I can see the bumps going down and the boils if any reducing too. Even though the brand claims that it can be used as a moisturiser, I don’t think so. Coz it does give a bit of hydration, but that is not enough for the skin.

But post shave and hair removal in any form, this gel is a blessing in disguise. Especially if you have sensitive skin. And I like how my skin feels so fresh and cool after using it. The fragrance may be a put off for some, but I like it. I once burned my skin while cooking. My skin did not break, but I had angry welts on my skin. I used this gel on them, and felt a lot of respite.

P.S. If you have burnt your skin very badly and have broken the upper skin, DO NOT use this on that open wound. Not advisable. Only on the light burns from cooking or hot wax while hair removal.

Overall Thoughts

If you have sensitive skin like me and feel your skin crying and burning after hair removal and threading and all, definitely buy Biotique Bio Chlorophyll Oil Free Anti-Acne Gel. I will assure you that you will feel immediate results. I can’t comment on how well it will work on acne as I do not have any. But for post hair removal care, this is the best. At least for me. I have gone through so many tubs of these and I do highly recommend.
