Vivanta By Taj Surajkund – Staycation Experience & Review

Once in a while I feel like running away from my daily duties and relax somewhere I don’t have any responsibilities to carry out. On such days I choose staycations, since they don’t involve travelling and offer you same amount of bliss & relaxation that a holiday would. I love staying around delhi, a bit far from the centre or crowd. This time we chose Vivanta By Taj Surajkund which was on our “to visit” list for the longest time.

This 5-star hotel in Surajkund reflects the spirit of the tranquil and forested Surajkund neighbourhood which is steeped in vibrant history. The hotel has a luxury feel to it for sure. Taj has set the bar high and you expect nothing less than a royal experience.

We had booked the room already and check in was quick. We had chosen room with pool view which is something my daughter always enjoys. The room was filled with natural light and quite spacious too. I liked the minimalistic yet contemporary decor.

Bathroom was fitted with bath tub & shower cubicle. The toiletries were from forest essentials which is one of the luxurious Ayurvedic brands in India. The room had an LCD TV and basic amenities like electric kettle, tea / sugar sachets etc.

There infinity pools looked calm & serene. I would loved to take a dip had I knew how to swim LOL. The way to pool is through the Jiva spa, which in my opinion a bit too much to walk and too many doors to go through. Well this is my personal opinion though, we were lucky to have our room right next to the pool area 🙂

The hotel has one all day dinning restaurant where we had breakfast. There is one punjabi theme restaurant which I am assuming opens only in the evening or afternoon. We tried in room dinning for lunch & dinner and loved the food. The food had the right balance of spices & aesthetics. It was almost like home cooked food with a touch of luxury.

The staff was quite quick and acted promptly when we asked them to change our room in the night. There was a party going on somewhere on the property and we could hear the loud music in our room even at the midnight. Which was of course extremely annoying. However the team shifted us into another room on the same floor, we were asked to keep the keys of the room we had all the belongings in. We locked the room and moved to the other room to spend the night peacefully & catch some sleep.

Overall I quite enjoyed the stay at Vivanta By Taj Surajkund . The property is 30 minutes from my place. I loved the laid back , relaxed vibes combined with good food and impeccable service.
