Urban Decay Aura Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Highlighter Review

I have shared Urban Decay Afterglow 8 hour blush with you some time back and here is the highlighter from same range. It’s not your regular beige or champagne shade highlighter you can see that in picture here. Read on to know if Urban Decay Aura Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Highlighter is meant for us or not ?

Packaging – The packaging is so gorgeous and I maintain that Urban Decay’s gunmetal shade packaging which they launched 2 years back with their REVOLUTION lipstick and the blushes is so lust worthy, plus the outer box is also designed accordingly.

Shade – Urban Decay Aura highlighter is cool toned icy lavender pink shade with duo chrome metallic finish to it. The shimmer is fine and hence imparts a healthy glow which is not subtle but isn’t out of the box either . I was very fascinated to see so many brands with this concept of duo chrome pink highlighters and this was the easiest to pick due to decent price tag. BECCA do have one but that is little heavy on pocket and am playing it safe with my favourite brand – Urban Decay . 

Pigmentation and Texture – AURA shows very nicely on my NC 40 skin tone with light touch of a fan brush. It doesn’t look ashy but not sure if it will look good on someone above NC 42 due to cool undertones. The texture is very soft but doesn’t seem powdery at all. It is finally milled plus the duo chrome is also not chunky. I like that it is easy to build the colour else it’s easy to load the powder if it is too pigmented. 

Staying power  – The highlighter stays on my oily skin for 8 hrs plus and this is what they claim , I always pair it with cool toned blushes so that it blends well and look flattering .

Overall Thoughts

I adore highlighters and you must have guessed so by my recent reviews of NARS Tribulation and Sephora Jubilant . Urban Decay Aura is another stunner which is absolutely unique and is so gorgeous and a collector’s item I would say. These days so many brands have come up with this shade but this being easy on pocket would be my first choice. Something I would blindly recommend if you are below NC 42, you must try this.
