Sampan Restaurant Review – The Suryaa New Delhi

Sampan is the oldest restaurant at The Suryaa Hotel, New Delhi. This restaurant is famous for its serene roof top position from where you can see half of the city. Its located in south delhi, heart of the city and serves Pan Asian cuisine. How I loved our seats near the wide glass window, enjoying dinner while looking at the bustling city below. Sampan Restaurant Review - The Suryaa New Delhi (1)

It has a section where they have placed couches, a bar area and a sky-lounge. All the tables in the dinning area have luminous Optical Fibre Lights hanging from the ceiling. Whole restaurant’s looks very sophisticated. Sampan Restaurant Review - The Suryaa New Delhi (11)Mr. Rahul (F&B Executive) kept us company. He made sure that our entire dinning experience was smooth & in line with our preferences. As always we decided to go by his recommendations and let me tell you, he over stuffed us with a dozen of delightful delicacies.

We were served veg & prawn crackers with drinks. Followed by Appetizers & Salads. I love Som Tam,the one that was served to us at Sampan was hot ! I mean with good amount of red chillies, it was very very refreshing and crunchy. Everything in the starters tasted amazing specially Fennel Tossed Prawns, Crispy Spinach Corn, Kai Pad Bai Gra Pron & Honey Chili Lotus Steam. I had to stop going back for more just to keep enough space in my stomach to taste the main course.

In main course I decided not to have any more sea food and asked for chicken, lamb dishes. Sampan Restaurant Review - The Suryaa New Delhi (13)Sampan Restaurant Review - The Suryaa New Delhi (12)Main course had some lip smacking dishes. Chicken Mangol was succulent moderatly spiced and quite delicious. I also liked how Phad Cha Pae Lamb tasted. It was pan fried & tasty.

Now comes the star of the evening- Desserts. I loved Deep Fried Ice-cream the most. It was very very delicious.Sampan Restaurant Review - The Suryaa New Delhi (15)

I find Sampan a perfect place for family dinners or friends get together. Grab a drink and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Sky lounge or from your dinner tables. That is the beauty of a roof-top restaurant. I can see myself going there often in future because of the whole experience.
