As per the press release Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain has been launched in India in 8 shades, however most of the people I know have spotted only 6 shades till yet. I didn’t see a neutral & a red shade anywhere , but its there in the release picture. I will check out stores for those two shades because I would really love to have a neutral stain in my stash.

So sometime back I saw these beauties at Revlon counter and shared Swatches of 6 Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in a previous post. I am not much into bright shades so picked 2 darkest shades available. Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Review Swatches Photos - Parisian Passion , India Intrigue (1)I love lip stains, since they are long wearing and look more natural than lipsticks or glosses. And for women like me who have a baby to look after 24*7, long staying stains are a boon, because they don’t slip or bleed out of lip lines and reapplication is not required (in most of the cases). I had really enjoyed Loreal Caress Shine Lip Gloss Bella as my go to lip stain until it started smelling foul (like plastic). Formula can not be compared to Maybelline Lip polish because Revlon Moisture Stain has a thicker and more pigmented formula. These are surely a cross between a lipstick & lip gloss.

Shades – Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain India Intrigue is a beautiful bright pink with gold flecks, which aren’t visible upon application however add nice shine to the formula. Parisian Passion is a deep burgundy color, perfect for those who love deep-dark shades.

Texture & Formula – Initially when I applied Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain on moisturized lips, it didn’t glide on smoothly, it felt almost gloopy. Then with time and experience I learned that it needs bare lips to glide on smoothly and evenly. Your lips should be bare and dry and then it will go on nicely. However since its thicker in consistency, I rub my lips together to even out the color. I am quite impressed with the moisturizing abilities of these shades, my dry lips survive for good 6+ hours without a lip balm when I have one of these on. Gel like formula glides on and evens out lips.

Staying Power – Parsian Passion stays on for 4+ hours and stain stays for another 2 hours. India Intrigue stays on for 3+ hours and stain stays on for 2+ hours.

Overall Thoughts

I am quite pleased with the staying power and moisturizing capabilities of Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain. Packaging looks good and pointed applicator makes application easy. Formula is like a gel and glides on easily, though lips have to be bare (without lip balm). It stays on for a decent time and I can see myself wearing them often.
