Your Hygiene Comes First with Nykaa Ultra Fresh Intimate Wash. Specially formulated to maintain ideal pH balance this Nykaa wash gently cleanses and freshens the intimate area.
Lactic Acid keeps pH balance in check to protect from infections. Tea Tree Oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Sea Buckthorn Oil has a soothing effect and anti-Inflammatory properties that reduce swelling and redness.
Packaging: This hygiene wash comes in a white cylindrical bottle. The plastic bottle has screw cum flip open cap. I prefer this kind of packagings because they are reusable. Once the product inside gets over, you can use them for some other item. You won’t have to spend your hard-earned bucks on empty travel bottles.
Nykaa’s Intimate Wash bottle is opaque. You can’t directly see how much product is left in the bottle. The cleanser bottle comes packed in a cardboard box. Both the outer box and the label of the wash container is coloured in pale pink.
You’ll find the detailed ingredients list, the claims, the pH value and the expiry information in the bottle and its outer carton. Even if you throw out the carton, you can still see the shelf life and other details from the wash bottle.
Colour & Consistency: Nykaa Naturals Ultra Fresh Intimate Hygiene Wash is a colourless clear liquid. The consistency is super thin. It is just slightly thicker than water. As there is no sulphate in the formula, the wash does not lather much.
However, the cleansing effects are not at all hampered by it. Sometimes it becomes a tedious task to get rid of soapy residues from such lighter cleansers. It’s a relief that this one does not have that issue. The Intimate Wash is free from parabens and silicones. Nykaa has used safer preservation ingredients in this to increase the shelf life.
The constituents list has lactic acid as one of the actives. It helps to maintain the pH balance of the sensitive skin of your intimate area and prevent microbial inflammations.
Fragrance: Though there’s a mention of perfume in the ingredients list of Nykaa Naturals Ultra Fresh Intimate Hygiene Wash, you can’t really smell it in the wash. I think, the strength of the fragrance agent is kept too low to be distinguishable.
Artificial fragrance producing chemicals are often irritating on sensitive skin. That’s why, I prefer unscented intimate washes. The wash smells a little medicinal. I can get a hint of tea tree fragrance in it.
The formula does contain tea tree though. The fragrance is very similar to Pee Safe Intimate Wash that I have used and reviewed for you in the past.
Quantity & Price: The pocket-pinch for 100ml of Nykaa Naturals Ultra Fresh Intimate Hygiene Wash is Rs.199. Commonly available safety washes of this quantity come at more or less similar price range. So, there’s nothing much to comment about the price.
Oftentimes Nykaa runs 10-15% discount offers on this. You can avail the offer in both online and offline mode. Also, 100ml is the only size available for this product. There’re no travel size or value pack for this one.
My Overall Thoughts
Our body’s immune system has its own mechanism to protect the intimate areas. But, there’s no harm in adding an extra layer of security using hygiene washes. These days the market is filled with intimate washes and foams of all kinds. One should always be care careful while picking something from these.
Always choose an intimate wash that is free from harsh soapy ingredients like sulphates, carcinogenic preservatives like parabens, artificial colorants and chemical fragrances. Apart from added fragrance, Nykaa Naturals Ultra Fresh Intimate Hygiene Wash is clean from all these nasty chemicals.
This was the reason I bought this product in the first place. Let me tell you the truth, I could find no difference between other popular intimate washes and this one. The Nykaa wash is mild, soap free and gentle on the skin. I didn’t have to go through rash, itching or any other adverse reaction after using this one. To me, it’s a safe wash.
Just one thing I would like to point out here. The formula looks and feels exactly same as PeeSafe Intimate Wash. Even the active ingredients (tea tree and sea buckthorn oil) and smell are same. If you have used and liked the PeeSafe one, you will like this one.
