L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner Review

I have come up with the review of L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner. Our hair strands are non-living cells that grow out of the live cells on scalp. Our skin has a set of oil glands to cover our skin with naturally produced oily substance, sebum. Hair follicles have no way to moisturize themselves.L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner

Oils secreted from scalp skin spreads through the hair strands as we comb our hair. When the hair grows beyond shoulder length, the amount of naturally generated sebum falls short to supply moisture to the tips of hair. As a result, we start seeing dry, frizzy and brittle hair.

The porosity of the hair follicles increases even more as we wash our dry hair with harsh soapy hair cleansers. Finally, we are left with split ends and that is when we have to cut the ends of our precious mane to prevent further damage. Applying conditioner after every hair wash is a must for all hair types and lengths.

This step balances out the moisture loss done by the harsh cleansing agents of shampoos. I always look for conditioners that provide deep nourishment to dry hair. L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner promises to do so. Here’s what I feel about the newly launched L’Oreal conditioner targeted towards long hair.

About L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner

Loreal Paris Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner detangles hair to reduce breakage so you can have the hair length of your dreams. Infused with a cocktail of vegetal keratin and castor oil to repair damaged hair and save your last 3cm.

Features:

1. For Longer & stronger hair

2. No need for hair cuts

3. Helps Seal Split Ends

Packaging: This conditioner comes in an orange plastic upside down container. The inverted bottle has a red flip top cap to dispense the conditioner. This is a common packaging style from L’Oreal. Every L’Oreal conditioner comes is similar packs. The colour code of this particular Dreamlengths range is orange.

This detangling hair conditioner is available in two sizes. I have bought the bigger 192.5ml pack. You can get it in a small travel size as well. The conditioner bottle is not at all flimsy. The quality of the plastic is superior and the cap is also very secure. Chances of accidental product spillage is next to none.

Take a thorough look at the back of the pack, you’ll get all the necessary information. Like all L’Oreal products this one too contains full ingredients list.

Colour & Consistency: Loreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner is a thick and creamy hair conditioner. It is pure white in colour. The consistency is moderate to thick. I get spa cream like feel while applying this on my hair. The formula contains vegetable derived keratin and castor oil.

Both the ingredients are quite oily in nature. Plus, this product also has plenty of silicones in it. It does provide the silicone-smoothness after application. I have used every single drugstore conditioner variant from L’Oreal. This Dreamlengths conditioner is among their most nourishing formulations. Apart from L’Oreal’s 6 Oil Nourish Conditioner no other conditioner variant is as thick as this.

Fragrance: This conditioner smells like vanilla biscotti. There’s also a hint of floral note though. This warm fragrance reminds me of vanilla latte enhanced cozy winter evenings. The smell is moderately strong.

I have also bought the shampoo from the same range. The hair wash also smells similar but this one is more intense in terms on fragrance intensity. The smell remains in the hair for some hours and prevents the sweaty odor of scalp.

Quantity & Price: L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner is priced at Rs.209 for 192.5ml. The price of this is definitely steeper than other L’Oreal conditioner variants and conditioners from other drugstore brands. The hair wash from the same range of L’Oreal sells at a cheaper rate than this.

L’Oreal often comes up with good discount offers on their skin and hair care range. If you are buying this from online, you might get 15-25% discount on this. At offline purchases beauty stores give 5-10% flat discount. This is not a limited-edition range so wait for a good deal to get your hands on it.

My Overall Thoughts

I have dry and pollution damaged hair. I am trying to reverse the damages by incorporating milder hair care products in my regimen. In my long hair journey, I have found couple of products that actually do some good to my hair. L’Oreal’s 6 Oil Nourish Conditioner is one such product.

This L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner comes from the same brand and makes similar type of claims. This is one reason I brought this one in my shower. This is a basic silicone-based hair conditioner. However, its thick texture makes it a special product for tremendously dry hair like mine.

This is not at all suitable for oily hair types. I apply this immediately after hair wash and keep for 2-3 minutes. It provides moderate conditioning effects within that time. Days when I keep it about 5-7 minutes, it helps to define my curls better. This conditioner is able to take care of the stubborn frizz and tangles for 1-2 days.

After that the hair becomes dull and dry again. Being a silicone-based product, this one has a tendency to create buildup in the scalp. The shampoo from the same range won’t be able to cleanse the buildup completely. I have to use clarifying shampoos from time to time otherwise the hair looks and feels dull.

Overall, L’Oreal Dreamlengths Detangling Conditioner is a deep nourish conditioning hair product suitable for dry, damaged and curly hair.
