I’m sucker for oranges red lipstick and keep buying them on and off from brands easily available and a cult a classic like NARS HEATWAVE is not to be missed. This is one lipstick which has made its appearance in several famous makeup forms for being one of the most famous NARS shade / Best orange red lipstick. I adore their semi matte range which offers awesome shades and the pigmentation which is unbelievable.

Shade – NARS Heat Wave described as orange red and true to its description it is warm toned bright red shade with orange tones to it. I feel this is a most flattering reddish orange shade on warm skin tone, against fair skin tone it may look too striking. Once it’s on I barely need any makeup, just a liner and this lipstick makes me look polished.

Texture – NARS Semi matte lipstick is my favourite formula from their permanent line , they have smooth and easy to glide texture although not super light weight on lips but still very comfortable to wear . They are not flat out matte and have a soft velvety sheen to them which makes them look soft on eyes and doesn’t dry out lips once they wear off. It doesn’t bleed nor does it settle in fine lines or accentuate them due to creamy nature.

Pigmentation – HEAT WAVE is rich in pigmentation like all semi matte shades from this line and is opaque in two swipes easily. On lips I need one layer to cover and second layer to get even look.

Staying Power – As the lipstick is nicely pigmented and rich in payoff I get 5 plus hrs of wear with this shade and then it leave behind a beautiful orange tint on my lips.  Even if I wear it as stain the colour stays nicely for 4 plus hours fading evenly.

Overall Thought

I absolutely adore NARS Lipsticks and their semi matte range have some amazing shades to offer , the red’s , orange , burgundy and so on . If you love velvety matte lips which stays and doesn’t settle in fine lines they definitely give them a shot. They come in small rubberized tubes which are not sleek but are travel friendly. I am still waiting to try their new line – audacious but till then I will give my all the love to a cult classic like – HEATWAVE.
