Has it ever happened that you went for buying something and return with something else? I like Revlon Balmstains and have Lovesick from the range, I needed one slightly toned down color to wear on daily basis. I went to buy Smitten and ended up at Max Factor counter. Max factor has recently launched Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in 6 colors. I got Deep Burgundy.
Shade – Max Factor Deep Burgundy is a burgundy colored lip crayon. This shade is perfect for winters.
Texture & Formula – Max Factor Deep Burgundy feels almost like a lipstick. I tried couple of Color Elixir lipsticks in the store and their formula was almost comparable to this crayon, its like changing the packaging but the formula is same. Crayon glides on pretty smoothly on lips and feels bit sticky. It has a buttery texture that almost melts while applying. Formula is loaded with silver shimmers that gives it a glossy almost frosty finish.
Pigmentation – Although the color is deep but formula doesn’t give full coverage/ pigmentation. You have to swipe the crayon multiple times to cover lips evenly.
Staying Power – Max Factor Deep Burgundy Giant Pen Stick stays on for good 3-4 hours and fades without staining lips.
I have mixed feeling about this product. I didn’t like the packaging and the frosty finish. Also I am not a fan of sticky formula and non staining lip crayons, they leave you with bare lips after some time. Also Max factor has priced Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick a bit too high. I am not sure if all the colors have similar finish, so try them in store before buying if you aren’t fan of shimmers.
