Lakme has recently launched Hi-Definition matte lipsticks in 15 vibrant shades. I was bit disappointed with the price tag however colors, formula and overall experience compensated for it. Packaging is identical to Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipsticks that launched long back, but yes these cost 100 Rs less than the gloss addict ones.. a relief? maybe 🙂

Shades – You ask for and its there, 15 vibrant shades surely cover all the hues- plum, brown, orange, red and pinks. I was slightly confused but since I am no longer into bright shades, decided to pick Plum Spell, which surprisingly is not-a-regular plum lipstick. Its a beautiful Red with plum undertones. Texture & Formula – I stay away from matte formulas because such dry formulas amplify my lip lines and make them look grosser than how they actually are. However for the past few months we have seen couple of beautiful matte lipstick formulas and Lakme Absolute Matte Studio Sculpt is one of them. Initially formula feels creamy, the bullet glides on smoothly without tugging or pulling. After few minutes, it settles into a semi-matte which later turns into an almost-matte finish. by almost matte I mean not dehydrated matte finish. I have worn it numerous times and believe me its the one lipstick I am reaching out to most of the times, because of the color & formula.

Staying Power – Plum Spell stays on for good 5-6 hours without much fading. However lips definitely feel dry when the creaminess wears off, so I always keep a clear lip balm handy for touch ups. No one likes to see a desert-mouth talking haha.

 

Overall Thoughts

I am pleasantly surprised with the formula & longevity of Lakme Plum Spell Absolute Matte Lipstick. Formula feels comfortable on lips however after 3-4 hours lips do get dry, but its natural with all matte formulas. Color stays on without much fading or feathering.
