My Envy Box October – Unboxing & Review

My Envy Box (Rs 850 for one month) from myenvybox.comMy Envy Box October – Unboxing & review (1)

Have you ever thought a lot about buying something, thinking it would be great, finally biting the bullet and cracking out the credit card and then getting your parcel and getting soooo disappointed that you wished you had saved your moolah?  That’s exactly what happened to me when I opened my Envy Box this month. My Envy Box October – Unboxing & review (3)So let me dial back a little, I saw that this month’s Envy box was curated by Vogue, added to that this was Diwali time and I felt this month should be special.  So I decided to treat myself to the box this month.

Yes, they are very prompt with delivery and the box reached me this afternoon.  It’s the size of the contents that left me feeling sore.  The brands are great, the sizes, well, not so much.My Envy Box October – Unboxing & review (5)Here’s what I got in the box

  1. Sebasitan Professional Potion 9 – 10 ml sachet. – A styling cream to be used on wet hair.  This should last me a couple of uses.  The sad part is this sachet was manufactured 2 years ago, all the way back in August 2012. It says the expiry is in 2015, but I expected better.  The sachet also looks very worse for wear, crumpled and folded in places.
  2. H2O+ Hydrating Body Butter – Sea Salt. – This tube is 30ml.  Yes, I will use this one even though I don’t see any expiry date on the tube.  I’m not normally suspicious about expiry dates, but seeing the earlier product I couldn’t help wonder.
  3. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair – 2 sachets of 1.5ml each. – Great product, not expecting to see such small sizes.  I would at least expect 5 sachets of a skin care product.  In fact I’ve been given a 7ml sample bottle at the Lauder counter when I picked up some other stuff from them. Really sore about this one.
  4. Innisfree – It’s Real Cucumber Mask Sheet.- One single sheet mask.  Again, feel cheated looking at the quantity.
  5. SkinYoga Sandalwood Saffron Face Mask – 5gms. – I got this exact same product in my Fabbag, and yes, I paid only 30% of this price for the Fabbag. (Which also had a lot of other loot that made it worthwhile).
  6. Parisian Temporary Tatoo. – Its a gold left shaped pattern.  I think my daughter likes this.
  7. Rs 1000 Spa L’Occitane voucher. Don’t really know whether I will use this.  I always hate vouchers that have a value that is a small percentage of any of their services.  I would have preferred a complimentary service of anything.  There seems to be no validity mentioned on the voucher.  No idea how long it’s vaild
  8. An Estee Lauder Scratch the bubble sheet. You are supposed to take the card, untouched to an Estee Lauder Counter, where you scratch one of the bubbles to reveal one of their Top Techniques and get a sample (*till product lasts)

My Envy Box October – Unboxing & review (3)So overall I’m feeling like someone cheated me, you know the feeling you get when you’ve been conned by a sly shop keeper who changed the bill when you weren’t looking.

I know I went into this after seeing all the earlier reviews, so I guess, I should have known better.  Ce la vie 🙁

Overall Thoughts

I guess I’ve been spoiled by the GWP offers I’ve seen whilst traveling abroad, as well the amazing product sizes that international boxes send.  If you like the brands in these boxes, I would rather advise you to go across to any of their counters, you have a better chance of getting larger sample sizes.  If you live in a city or town that doesnt have this, then this box may make sense, though be aware that this is clearly not value for money.

    Thank you for your review.
You actually saved me and so did the look of this box.
I’ve been getting fab bag for 3-4 months now and was thinking of subscribing this one, with it being “curated” by vogue (really!). But you definitely changed my mind and saved me some bucks.
How about the memebox? Is it really good? What’s the price and can u invite me?
    Thanks again.
