Clinique Makeup Kit Review Swatches EOTD

I received this Clinique Makeup Kit – Travel Size in my Vellvette Box October 2012 edition. I love makeup kits because they house all the necessary products in one place and are easy to use on the go. Clinique Makeup Kit comes with 3 eyeshadows, 1 blush, 1 eyeshadow and 1 blush applicator. The packaging is mirrored and makes it all the more travel friendly. All in all its a complete travel size makeup kit.I can see a champagne, a shimery mauvy-pink & a matte brown shade as eyeshadows. I believe this combination is universally flattering and would go with number of outfits. Texture of shimmery eyeshadows is smooth however they lack pigmentation. I had a tough time building up the colors. In my opinion an opaque primer underneath would do the trick and help these colors to show up well. Blush is a peachy pink shade, it has micro shimmers which don’t show up once you apply it. The blush again lacks pigmentation but formula is fine and smooth. It doesn’t feel chalky or powdery whatsoever.Sponge tip applicator can be good to give eyelids a wash of color, but to be honest i rarely use brushes that come with such Kits due to their not-so-great quality.Here are the swatches     Overall an ok palette, good for travelling and when you want subtle makeup. However a little more pigmentation would have made it a great choice.
