Bourjois 1-2-3 Soleil Shine Edition Lipstick (Rs 995 for 3gms) available at Bourjois counters.Bourjois recently launched the Shine Edition range after their very infamous Rouge Edition lipsticks. These are very light weight, have balmy texture and decently pigmented. 2 more lipsticks from this range Rouge Making Of & Famous Fuchsia have already been reviewed.
A word from Bourjois: “A new generation formula that brings shine, color and comfort to your lips. An ultra-shine result, thanks to a new ¼ gloss extract for amazing shine-wrapped colour. The new sensuous formula gives ultimate comfort. Enriched with nourishing mango butter extracts, Shine Edition leaves lips moisturized for up to 10 hrs**. Its rich and melting formula provides cushion comfort and makes application addictive! And the icing on the cake…It’s shiny, colored packaging makes Shine Edition lipstick a true fashion accessory.”
Shade – Out of the 8 shades available, I got Bourjois 1-2-3 Soleil which is an outstanding tangerine orange shade. It looks really juicy and provides luscious look to lips.Packaging – The packaging of Bourjois 1-2-3 Soleil is very classy and attractive. It has a mirror like reflective out cover having Chrome accents. A shade indicator is provided at the bottom which helps in easily locating the lip colour needed. The bullet inside is very sturdy. It definitely speaks class for itself!
Texture & Formula – The texture of Bourjois 1-2-3 Soleil is very soft. It applies smoothly on lips and is very hydrating. The formula provides glossy finish to lips and gel-like feel. It is light weight and doesn’t settle in the lip lines. The finish is semi-sheer. It has light fruity fragrance which disappears within seconds of application.
I find this very similar to Revlon Colorburst Lip butters except that these are glossier.Pigmentation – Bourjois 1-2-3 Soleil is decently pigmented. It comes out sheer in single swipe as the texture is balmy but it is buildable to medium coverage that will cover light pigmented lips. It adds glossy look to lips making them appear slightly plumped.
Bourjois is one brand I am always excited about. I like everything about this lipstick as it is very light weight, hydrating and the packaging is very classy. However, the major downside is the ever increasing price of the products. At this price, I would prefer buying MAC instead!
Bourjois 1-2-3 Soleil will suit all skin tones as it is warm toned and those having dry lips will love the formula. There are darker shades in the range too that are worth checking out.
