Ingredient based skin care is the latest trend throughout the globe and keeping up with it, the brands are coming out with new age skin care goodies. Hyaluronic acid is a widely popular skin care ingredient that is basically a humectant moisturizer like glycerine or honey.

Our skin produces hyaluronic acid to keep the skin plump and moist. Studies reveal that babies have plenty of hyaluronic acid in their skin cells that is why their skin feel so soft and bouncy. As we age, our skin’s hyaluronic acid level starts depleting and as a result the effects of ageing starts to show.Pond's Super Light Gel Oil Free Moisturizer Review Price Photos

Its lightweight formula absorbs into the skin instantly without leaving any sticky feeling, making it ideal for all seasons, even in scorching summers. It’s super lightweight formula spreads easily on skin making it easy to apply. Enjoy it all throughout the year!

Features:

1. Super lightweight gel-type moisturizer that provides long lasting hydration

2. Infused with moisture-boosting hyaluronic acid, it improves your skin’s natural moisture holding capacity, making it soft and bouncy

3. Non-oily formula keeps oiliness and stickiness at bay, keeping your skin feeling fresh

Packaging: The gel moisturizer comes in a light blue plastic tub holding. The screw lid opens into another plastic stopper lid to prevent the spillage and to prevent contamination.

The packaging is kind of unhygienic as we have to dip fingers to take out desired amount of product. On the other hand, no product gets wasted. The packaging is spill-proof and travel-friendly.

Colour & Consistency: This is a translucent colourless gel with moderate thickness. Due to the translucent texture, it looks white. It is a watery gel kind of product. It feels light on skin and gets absorbed quickly. However, it has certain amount of nourishing power so the skin doesn’t feel dry afterwards.

Fragrance: Pond’s Super Light Gel Oil Free Moisturizer has a light lily and aloe vera fragrance. The fragrance is very mild and does not stay at all.

Quantity & Price: This gel comes at Rs.149 for 73gm. There is another bigger size available for around Rs.300. As I mentioned earlier, this is the cheapest hyaluronic acid based moisturizer and it also has oil free non-comedogenic formula.

I have to give Pond’s a high five for launching such a nice product for such a good price.

My Overall Thoughts:

Hyaluronic acid works wonders on my acne-prone combination skin. I started using this amazing ingredient in a serum form a year ago and my skin condition has improved astonishingly. That is the reason I grabbed this new moisturizer from Pond’s as soon as my serum got over.

Pond’s Super Light Gel Oil Free Moisturizer is a great moisturizer for oily and combination skin for summer. But, in winter my skin needs a bit more. So, I replaced my serum with this moisturizer and then I continue with my regular moisturizer. Believe me, this one performs as well as my L’Oreal Genius water serum toner.

It hydrates the skin and locks the moisture to my skin. It also performs well if used under makeup. This is a dupe for Neutrogena’s Hydroboost moisturizer. It is slightly less hydrating than the Neutrogena but it’s price is at least 5 times lesser than that.
