I hope you all know that “The 2014 Pantone Color of the Year is Radiant Orchid, a beautiful (and versatile!) floral flush”. I love orchid but haven’t thought of wearing it as  a lipstick. But once in a while I step out of my comfort zone, pick a color that isn’t “berry”, “pink” or “red”. This time I decided to pick “NYX Black Label Lipstick Orchid”

Shade – True to its name NYX Black Label Lipstick Orchid is a beautiful Violet Pink shade that looks almost duochrome upon application. I wasn’t sure how this color would appear on me, but I am glad now that I tried it. Color of Orchid is similar to NYX Brush On Lip Gloss Fusion.

Texture & Formula – I loved the texture & formula of NYX Black Label Lipstick Orchid. Its smooth , buttery and glides on without tugging or pulling. Formula is moisturizing and keeps lips comfortable throughout the wear. It doesn’t settle in fine lines neither accentuates them. I can see presence of shimmer that gives “Orchid” a glossy high shine finish.

Pigmentation – NYX Black Label Lipstick Orchid is very pigmented. One Swipe of color covers lip discoloration.

I am looking tired in this pictures because I clicked after one hectic day of shopping and loitering around !

Staying Power – NYX Black Label Lipstick Orchid  stayed on me for good 5+ hours with slightly fading from the middle of lips after meal. Even when the formula wears off it leaves a strong berry pink tint behind that stays on for another 2 hours.

Overall Thoughts

NYX Black Label Lipstick Orchid has won me over. Everthing about the product is amazing, formula, pigmentation, staying power, rich color payoff ! I can’t wait to try on more colors from this range. Only downside is availability of all colors from the range. You can buy them at cheaper price from international shopping sites like cherryculture.
