After many months, I visited a MAC store recently with a friend and both of us ended up buying the same shade of lipstick. Viva Glam III is a unique shade in my kit now and have been wearing it often and received compliments.
Packaging : Viva Glam range of lipsticks come in a different packaging to differentiate from the normal range. It is classy and pretty in a black and red combination. All MAC lipsticks have a vanilla fragrance in them.
When you purchase a Viva glam lipstick from MAC, the proceedings go for the AIDS fund and it is a good cause. Though, there are not many pretty shades from this range, except for Viva glam 1 which is my personal favorite, I ended up buying Viva Glam III which is a unique color by itself.
Shade : Viva Glam III is a brown with a hint of pink. It suits medium-dusky skin very well and instantly brightens the face. If you love wearing dark colors, you must check this out.
I would call it an unsung hero as I have not seen makeup artists or makeup lovers praising this shade much but I assure you, this is one of the best colors for warm Indian skin.
Texture & Formula : Texture wise, it is matte, but not drying. It feels comfortable on the lips. It stays put for 5-6 hours with even fading after food and water. I love the color so much that I have been carrying it with me and re applying at some places.
Pigmentation : The pigmentation is awesome and it covers dark lips easily. You can also top it off with a transparent lip gloss for the evenings and see what a difference it makes.
MAC Viva Glam III is priced at Rs. 1500.
Overall Thoughts
MAC Viva Glam III lipstick is my personal favorite color from the range and I love it to bits. Young girls may find it a bit too dark and old color but it looks great on wheatish skin.
