Lever Ayush is a Hindustan Unilever brand that comes up with ayurveda inspired ready to use skin and hair care products co-created with Internationally acknowledged ayurveda research centre The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy of Coimbatore.

Aloe vera gel is an important part of my everyday skin care. I not only use it as moisturizer but also make lots of DIY masks with this plant based skin soothing gel.

I mostly rely on store-bought aloe vera gels and over the past years I have tried lots of brands that sell ready to use aloe gels. Here are my opinions about Aloe Vera Cooling Face Gel by Lever Ayush.

About Lever Ayush Aloe Vera Cooling Face Gel

Packaging: This gel comes in a pale green see-through squeeze tube. The chubby packaging looks kind of cute but this takes a lot of space in your travel skin care bag. Coming to the informative detailing, the tube has detailed ingredients list mentioned.

It even mentions the quantities of all the active ingredients and also the preservatives and colours.

Colour & Consistency: This is a transparent aloe vera gel with light to medium consistency. It looks pale green in the packaging but when you pour out a little, it looks more or less colourless.

This gel is not sticky like Patanjali’s aloe vera gel. It has nourishing but non-sticky formula. It gets absorbed quickly.

Fragrance: The aloe gel has extremely light herbal fragrance to it. The fragrance is so faint that it vanishes completely as soon as you apply it in your skin. The lightly scented gel does not irritate the senses.Lever Ayush Aloe Vera Cooling Face Gel Review Photos Price

Quantity & Price: This gel costs Rs.80 for 150gm. There is no other sizes available for this product. Lever Ayush’s aloe vera gel is is one of the cheapest aloe gel you can buy right now. It is even cheaper than famous Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel.

On discount, you can buy it as low as Rs.65 which I find a great deal for the quality and quantity of this gel. It contains two additional active ingredients Mint and Panchavalkadi Tailam, an ayuvedic oil concoction for curing eczema and dermatitis.

My Overall Thoughts:

As I mentioned earlier, I am an avid user of aloe vera gels. I use them as moisturizers, as leave on face packs or as base of my homemade face packs. This particular aloe vera gel performed equally well when I compare it to top quality pocket-friendly aloe gels like Patanjali and Lakme.

This one contains ayurvedic oil concoction Panchavalkadi tailam, naturally the formula feels a little bit nourishing. If you have oily to normal skin, this one will work great as moisturizer. Dry skin people can get away with a little bit vitamin e oil or rosehip oil on top of the aloe gel.

Though Lever Ayush Aloe Vera Cooling Face Gel contains min extract, it does not create tingling sensations on the skin unlike those chemical based skin care items. My skin is overly sensitive to pore-clogging products.

This light gel does not cause any irritation or acne breakout. Other than the presence of chemical preservatives, I found no other con in this gel.

Rating: 4.5/5
