Estee Lauder Rich Red Signature Lipstick Review Swatches Photos

Till about a year or two back, I was never sure about how a red lipstick would look on me. But since I had already fallen in love with bright and pop colored lipsticks (Thanks to Relentlessly Red from Mac), I was very keen on trying a red shade. Co-incidentally around the same time a cousin gifted me a set of Estee Lauder lipsticks that had shades of red, browns and plums in it. After a lot of contemplating I finally decided to use the Estee Lauder Rich Red from this set. This beautiful red colour not only looks good but also carries a very soft nice smell with it.

Packaging: Rich Red is part of Estee Lauder’s Signature Collection and has a very pretty gold packaging.

Shade: Rich Red isn’t a classic red shade. It is more of a maroon red with a very cool undertone.

Texture & Formula : This is not a matte lipstick. It is high on lustre and is also moisturizing for somebody like me who usually has dry lips. The formula doesn’t settle in fine lines. The lipstick feels really light on the lips. However, being a MAC lipstick lover I feel Rich Red is not as smooth to apply as the Crème Sheen range from Mac.

Pigmentation: Rich Red is very well pigmented and gives good coverage in a single swipe, also covering any pigmentation on the lips.

Staying Power: Rich Red stays on the lips for good 3-4 hours. However, the only negative for me is that it bleeds at times and also transfers a lot initially so you have to be very careful while eating or drinking during that time.

Overall Thoughts

Estee Lauder Rich Red is a good shade especially for girls who are still unsure about red lipstick to buy. Since it is not one of those bright red lipsticks, it should look good on almost every skin tone. The formula is very moisturizing and feels extremely light on lips.
