Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser Review

I was experiencing extreme dryness and was looking for a super-gentle facial cleanser. Being a beauty blogger I never go back to the same product unless it was a life changing product. Burt’s Bees was a brand that I tried when Sephora india opened around 2 years ago and never tried anything after that, because of the price tag. Products from that brand are quite expensive, however I went there looking for a cleanser and the executive suggested me Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser. I asked her if its good for dry but acne prone skin and as per her it was perfect.

Let’s talk about the product now. The cleanser smells refreshing, of oranges.. which is what I love the most about this product. Now moving on to the formula, its something I wasn’t prepared for. I have separate products for makeup removal & face cleansing, and I stay away from oil based cleansers , because they might end up clogging pores and causing break outs.

I take a pea size amount of the cleanser & massage it on my face, surprisingly it doesn’t foam up, something I look forward to in a facial cleanser. It feels almost like a makeup remover, an oil based one. You massage it on and as per the directions wash off with lukewarm water, but unfortunately I had to wash my face with a foaming cleanser to get rid of the oily/slippery feel that it leaves on the skin.

For me its more of a makeup remover than conventional face cleanser. If at the end of the day you get lazy and hate using separate products for makeup removal & face cleaning, then try Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser. However if you aren’t a fan of oil based, non-foaming cleansers than give it a miss.

Overall Thoughts

Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser is surely a gentle cleanser , however its not the kind of cleanser I prefer. Due to oily texture it does take off makeup residue, but leaves an oily film on the skin which is bothersome. More of a miss for me.
