YSL Pure Chromatics Eye shadow Palette (Rs 3200 for 3 gm) available at YSL counters.I generally wear neutral & light smoky shades of eye shadows and this palette is perfect for transforming neutral to smoky looks in a jiffy.

Shades – The palette consists of 4 shades ranging from a white gold to champagne gold, a light copper and moss green. These are wet & dry eyeshadow so the shades get intensified when used wet. When used dry, they show up more on a shimmery side but when used wet, they look more metallic.

Packaging – I simply adore the packaging of this quad.The shades are enclosed ina luxurious golden outer cover,though it is fingerprints and show up dust particles. A mirror is placed at one side which is sufficient enough for touch ups and two small applicators are provided, one for wet use and one for dry usage of the eye shadows. However, I have never used them as they are quite small for handling.Texture & Formula – The texture of the eye shadows is incredibly soft and smooth. It is finely milled and feels luxury to touch. Since the shades are water based, when used with damp brush, the eye shadows get rehydrated and the pigmentation increase and they look more intense and metallic. Adding a damp brush to this palette immediately turns the powder into a creamy texture which makes it easy to use and blend also. It then dries and can be used over and over. In dry form also, it blends very well.The shadows don’t have any fallout!!

Pigmentation – All the shades are decently pigmented and look shimmery in dry form and provide more of a metallic look when used dry.

Staying Power – The shades stay all through the day or as long as I am wearing them. I have never felt any fading or creasing. When used over a primer, they show up more vibrantly.Overall Thoughts

I am really happy to have this with me. The packaging, quality and feel of the palette is divine and the shades are pigmented. The water based formula is simply fabulous for turning shimmer shades into metallic finishes. It is a great palette for soft subtle looks as well as intense look as the shades provide a lot of options. They blend very well with each other.

The price is high but this being a high end product is definitely worth it. I highly recommend this palette if you are planning to splurge else there are many dupes for these shades in drugstore brands as well.
