A good makeup tool is essential to achieve a flawless look. Especially for foundation application, a right tool can change the experience as well as the way a makeup turns out. No one wants a cake face and specially during warmer months we all avoid too much layering. I love using Makeup Sponges for that purpose, you can control the amount of product you apply as well as the coverage. I have tried a number of sponges including Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge & PAC Beauty Blenders. Recently I got a chance to try out YBP Makeup Perfector .
YBP Makeup Perfector is available in two variants Naked (White) & Lust (Black) . I have received the former, and its the first white sponge I have tried so far. The packaging is quite useful as well as travel friendly. The sponge comes in a plastic container that has small holes on both the sides and a metal lid which looks more like a dish/shallow bowl.
I didn’t know the logic behind this packaging but saw the brand sharing the unique and useful concept. The container with holes allows the sponge to dry if you wash and keep it back in the container. Also the lid can be used to pour out liquid makeup and apply from there. This is quite user friendly especially when you aren’t travelling with a foundation with pump and need to pour it on hand. The dish can be cleaned and placed back as the lid. Quite smart !
Now coming back to the YBP Makeup Perfector. It is latex free and washable. I was amazed with the softness of this sponge as I have never seen a sponge this soft. I don’t have a beauty blender so can’t say if it is equally good or not. The sponge doubles up after soaking in the water. You squeeze out all the excess water and let it dry for 5 minutes before applying makeup. That ways you wouldn’t have wet sponge messing with liquid/cream makeup.
The sponge is soft and works amazingly. The pointy side can be used to apply under eye concealer and round side for foundation application. The sponge blends the product almost immediately, that too effortlessly. Loved it for that !
Despite of it being white in colour, washing off the makeup stains is easy-breezy. I soak it in soap solution for 15 minutes and then rinse it thoroughly. Also it dries in less time and retains its shape. Also it has’t torn or broken yet, even when I am using it regularly , and wash after each use.
Price of YBP Makeup Perfector is Rs 999 which is a bit steep but you are paying for the quality which isn’t available in any other makeup sponge available in India IMO.

Whether you are a pro or beginner and looking for a good foundation sponge to invest in then YBP Makeup Perfector is recommended. Sponge is latex free and hypoallergenic.
