Today I am reviewing WOW Skin Science Stretch Care Body Butter. Winter is on its way and my dry skin is already craving for moisture. Time for my summer body lotion is up for this year. It is high time to trade the light body creams for something rich and nourishing. I generally trust rich body lotions and body creams as they prevent my skin getting scaly during the harsh days of winter. This year I have decided to try out the Stretch Care Body Butter from WOW Skin Science.
WOW is a famous personal care brand offering paraben, silicone and artificial colorant free products. I had already tried a hair cleanser from WOW and it really worked for my troubled hair. This is certainly why I am going for their Stretch Care Body Butter.

The packaging includes a deep brown cardboard box for keeping the body butter jar. It’s a sturdy packaging but quite big for a standard travel toiletry bag. The ingredient list and other informative details are stated in the outer box as well as on the lid of the jar. I don’t like tub packaging because skin care products inside tub gets contaminated easily. However, tub is the best packaging style for thick products like body butter or hair mask.
Colour & Consistency: The body butter is off-white in colour and its consistency is thick. The product is creamy and kind of waxy. It is a perfect body butter for dry skin in winter. If you have oily skin and looking for a light body moisturizer for summer, this is not the product for you.
However, for dry and mature skin people, it’s quite a nice product. The texture of this body butter gets even thicker in the cold months. I need to give my skin a good massage to get it absorbed into the skin. The formula is free from parabens and silicones. This is not going to affect the skin on long term usage.
Fragrance: This body butter has a very lavender mixed with floral fragrance. The fragrance is extremely soothing and calming. I don’t know why but the smell reminds me of sandalwood mixed with incense fragrance that we experience in temples or meditation places. The fragrance is not strong. It lasts hardly an hour or so on me. I wish the fragrance stayed a little longer.
Quantity & Price: WOW Skin Science Stretch Care Body Butter has the MRP of Rs.499 for 200ml. However, this product is on sale almost all the time. You can easily get this at 299-399 bucks. The price is comparable to other paraben and silicone free body moisturizers available in the market. Still, wait out for good deals and you’ll be able to save a few bucks!
My Overall Thoughts
I use WOW Skin Science Stretch Care Body Butter once a day after shower. I prefer applying body moisturizer on damp skin. This way my skin does not lose the essential moisture. Applying moisturizer on dry skin has no effect. So, I do not let my skin get dry. I keep my body products on the shower cabinet and apply as soon as I am out of the shower.
WOW Skin Science Stretch Care Body Butter has been a good body moisturizer for me because of its rich texture. I just have to apply a little product and the skin stays supple through the day. The formula is free from colour, silicone and paraben which is the main reason why I decided to try this.
This rosehip, sea buckthorn, calendula and lavender based body butter is mainly for dry skin having stretch marks and discolorations sue to pigmentation. I do not have pigmentation as such but I do have stretch marks as I mentioned earlier. I do not see any change on the stretch marks after using WOW Skin Science Stretch Care Body Butter regularly.
However, it does provide good moisturization and prevents flakiness. It did not cause body acne on me. WOW Skin Science Stretch Care Body Butter is a good basic body butter for deep nourishment of dry damaged skin but it did not do anything on my stretch marks.
