Today’s review is about VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash. India’s leading makeup, beauty and fitness institute VLCC never failed to awe us with its unique range of skin care offerings. Whenever I have a big occasion coming, my skin has always found its solace in VLCC’s amazing home facial kits.
I have never had good relationship with VLCC’s hair care range. But, their skin care products like Lavang Moisturizer, Ayurveda face wash have secured their places in my all time favourites list. Cming to the Tulsi face wash, I bought it on a twin offer.
I actually wanted to try their Orange Oil face wash. This Tulsi one came in pair with the orange one. I am always in search for a good gel based facial cleanser for my acne prone skin.
This VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash is specially made for such skin types. Read along to know if this face wash could make the cut or not.
About VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash
VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash is enriched with Tulsi & dissolving Vitamin E Beads that helps clean, exfoliate, clears acne & revitalizes the skin.
Tulsi is a natural antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory phytoconstituent which helps in maintaining healthy skin. It is also a potential source of natural antioxidants.
Vitamin E helps reduce dark spots, scars, wrinkles & fine lines and improves texture of the skin.
Packaging: VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash comes in a half opaque half transparent plastic tube. Its clear flip open cap is leak proof but not that sturdy. My tube’s cap broke when it slipped out of my hand in shower.
Most VLCC face cleansers have similar packaging; there’s nothing much to share about it. The picture of basil leaves in the front gives a soothing vibe to the plain packaging.
On the back side of the pack, you’ll get the complete ingredients list along with some claims and usage directions.
Colour & Consistency: This face wash is a transparent gel of pale green colour. The colour is so minimal that it looks almost colourless when you pour it out in a small amount.
Its consistency is medium; neither thick like aloe vera gel nor runny. The wash has three types of cleanser beads. Majority of those beads dissolve as you massage the wash with a little water.
The biggest beads are light yellow, then there’re medium size green beads and the smallest beads are also yellow like the bigger ones.
Though the face wash gets a cool look with all those beads, these cleansing granules are pretty useless. Face cleanser without beads do the exact same degree of face cleansing as this beaded one.
Fragrance: This face wash has a unique herbal fragrance. It smells like wild herbs. There’s a touch of cool menthol fragrance as well. The smell is not overpowering but unusual.
The smell does not last long. If you have sensitive nose or you don’t like such herb fragrances, staying away from this would be good. 
Quantity & Price: This face wash comes at Rs.235 for 150ml. There’re no smaller or bigger packs available for this wash. If you buy it in pair offer packs like me, you’ll get 30-40% discount on each product in the pair. If you buy it in individual pack, it may cost you anywhere between Rs.170-199.
My Overall Thoughts
My oily to combination skin has always given me acne troubles during summer months. I don’t like foamy face washes as they cause my skin to secret more and more oil.
Gel based face washes suit me. I am quite satisfied with this Tulsi or Holy Basil enriched face wash because it cleanses my skin with zero stretchiness. I still need a moisturizer after this but not immediately.
This face wash has some good points and some bad points. I don’t like how this smells and also the presence of parabens. On the other hand, I really enjoy the instant freshness I get from this.
This menthol based wash provides a cooling sensation. VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash does not prevent acne but it keeps my skin oil free for 4-5 hours. Though this face wash is ‘for all skin types’, oily skin people will be much benefited from it.
