Urban Decay Vice3 Eyeshadow Palette Review Swatches Photos

Urban Decay Vice3 Eyeshadow Palette  ($60).

When I opened up my mail and saw this year’s URBAN DECAY VICE 3 EYESHADOW PALLETE, (which I didn’t even know was going to be made….eee!) my heart gave a little flutter and I actually squealed out loud. Check out this beaut’! The reflective cover, ocean-sunset streaks, and chartreuse crystallized lettering looked very promising. It costed me a whopping 4600 INR,including the shipping and other charges.

Shade – Urban Decay Vice3 has 20 shades in it (quite a lot), mostly leaning towards warm undertones unlike the previous VICE pallets.

Truth is described as a pale-pink nude matte. This shade is a bit powdery.

Undone is a midtone pinky beige satin with sparkle.

Downfall is a warm brown matte with a slight sparkle.

DTF is a taupe matte with sparkle.

Dragon is a bright super metallic green with shimmer.

Freeze is a frosty medium blue with glitter

Heroine is a deep matte navy with blue sparkle.

Brokedown is a golden brown shimmer.

Vanity is a is a deep purple with vibrant glitter and shimmer.

Lucky is a coppery bronze with really perfect colour payoff.

Reign is a taupe brown shimmer.

Reign is a taupe brown shimmer.

Alien is a soft peachy pink with gold shimmer.

Alchemy is a bright, vibrant fuchsia. UD says this is a satin.. I’m going to disagree, as this is pretty shimmery!

Bondage is a blackened burgundy with red shimmer.

Sonic is a bright, metallic reddish copper.

Last Sin is a champagne shimmer.

Angel is a warm taupe with silver shimmer.

Defy is a medium grey taupe with slight sparkle.

Revolver is a really fun soft black with iridescent shimmer.

Texture & Formula- I found all of these 20 shades to be utterly soft and creamy, butter soft, but they are so soft, they crumble easily, but that is not to complain as it is a signature URBAN DECAY feature, some shades like defy, freeze and downfall, are extra over the top crumbly, and have major fall outs, the most being that of DEFY. Rest all the colours ,including these are very soft, and the others have less or no fallouts apart from these three shades. In this pallet, even the matte shades, tend to have a bit of shimmer in their base, and you see an array of shimmers, to metallic to jewel tones.

Pigmentation- All of the shades in Vice3 palette are superb on pigmentation, apart from freeze, which doesn’t seem to be as opaque in swipe, some shades like truth and undone don’t really show up on  Indian skin tones, but as it is themselves are equally pigmented, I don’t see any streakiness or patchy feeling with any of the colours, and one dip of the brush is fine for the whole look 🙂 As of now I have used these eye shadows only dry, but I am pretty sure, that on using wet the pigmentation would be even stronger.

Staying Power- Well this is something this pallet is top notch, 10 hours of wear, and almost waterproof, do I need to say any more.

Overall Thoughts

Urban Decay Vice3 Eyeshadow Palette is a great buy if you are new to the world of Urban Decay, (like me) or, of course, if you are a palette junkie , and love doing your eyes(again like me) It’s awesome that the palette has all brand new shades, because nothing is more of a let down then when a palette has a bunch of colours in it that you already own. There are some really nice colours here (all were applied with no primer, namely my favourites are-BONDAGE,SONIC,DRAGON,REVOLVER,LAST SIN,VANITY,ANGEL,BROKEDOWN).Some colours do have some major major fallouts, but that’s what you typically expect out of UD, its great that it has various finishes and amazing on pigmentation, you don’t necessarily need an eye primer , but its on choice, its no harm if you wear a primer, it makes the colours more vibrant.

The packaging is a total killer in here, its stunning, simply perfection, I haven’t seen a pallet look more beautiful than this, the word VICE is inscribed in 3D, and I love the look ,has ocean waves streaming through the centre, also the brush that it comes with is of real good quality ,and blends well, this pallet is super travel friendly as it has a wide variety of shades, a huge large as life mirror, and comes with a bag so u can store the pallet and one more lipstick or a powder into the bag and carry J Okay, so overall, I say to buy this palette before it sells out and you regret it! It is pricey, but the amount/variety of shades, the quality, and the packaging (which includes a case and a brush) makes it worth it.
