Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup Review

I am a major foundation junkie. I have this insatiable urge to try all the foundations I can get my hands on. Moreover, I feel that if you have your base game right you can accomplish a lot towards looking presentable. I need my base makeup to be comfortable more than anything else. Coverage is secondary for me. So, even though I am ok with splurging on foundations, I am very picky about them. I picked Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup after a lot of consideration and after going through lot of reviews.

Packaging – The packaging of this product is quite attractive. The metallic cap and the glass encasing gives it a luxurious feel. Even though it is a glass bottle, it is very light weight. The pump dispenses the right amount of product desired. There is no wastage and owing to the pump it doesn’t get dirty. The only con I feel is the bottle is a fingerprint magnet, especially the cap. But that is something which can be taken care of with proper cleaning.

Shade – One of the first things I noticed about Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation was the shade range. It boasts of a range of 18 shades. It has lot of options for all skin tones. I matched my shade at Sephora Singapore, but did not pick it up at that time (like I said, I am picky). The SA matched me to 6. But I felt it was a bit dark on me. So I tried both 5.5 and 6 on either side of my face and decided to see which matched me better before buying. Like I predicted 5.5 matched me better. I picked it up later from Flipkart, though it’s no longer available there.

Texture and Finish – This foundation is very light weight and also feels light weight on the skin. You cannot feel the foundation on your skin. The texture is liquid and thin, but not too runny. It applies easily on the skin. It blends out perfectly on the skin making it look even. It has a matte satin finish which leaves the skin appropriately dewy looking. Though they say it is a fragrance free foundation, it has a funky smell. But it is barely noticeable unless you stick your nose to the bottle. It is transfer proof, doesn’t have a sticky feel and looks very natural on the skin. But people with very dry skin would need to moisturise their face properly before applying this foundation, otherwise it might feel a bit dry.

Coverage – Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation has light to medium coverage. It provides decent coverage, covers the light blemishes and evens out the skin making it look natural. Though it is said to be buildable, I find that it tends to become cakey and sticks to the dry areas. For full coverage and to cover major skin issues, it better to go with a concealer in addition.

Staying Power – This foundation stays on me for about 5-6 hours without a primer underneath and powder on top. After which my t-zone starts melting. But setting it with a powder will take care of that.

Overall Thoughts

I love Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup. It gives me a decent coverage and a natural finish. People who like full coverage may not like this one, but I personally prefer medium to sheer coverage. I recommend this to anyone who likes a natural finish in their foundations.
