Unboxing & Review My Envy Box October 2015 – Second Anniversary Box

My envy box is a beauty box that has been around for a couple of years, but I feel they have just started hitting their stride and have sent out some really great last couple of boxes.  There has been a lot of brouhaha surrounding the Second Anniversary box and I have been eagerly waiting to get my hands on this.  My box arrived just this afternoon.

So this was a really haircare heavy box for me, with 2 shampoos and 1 hair masque.  I find that the products differ from the information card so maybe I got one shampoo too many due to a packing mistake.

Here’s what I got:

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Sublime Cleansing Oil-Enriched Shampoo 70ml for Rs 750

I love Kerastase products and even though this is a travel size, 70ml is plenty for a thorough test to see if a product works for you.  I have not tried this new range and am really excited to see how this works for me.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime Masque 75ml Rs 1350

This product price alone makes the whole box worth the while almost twice over.  Kerastase masques are really great for working on tired over processed hair and again I am looking forward to using this soon.

L’Occitane Repairing Shampoo 75ml

Like I mentioned earlier, this is the product not in my information card, so I don’t have the actual price of the full size one.  I have the Shower Cream mentioned in the card and I would have loved to get this one instead of the Shampoo.  I have used this same L’Occitane shampoo in the past and I don’t really like it much.  I like the fact that it’s silicone free but I find the scent really overpowering.  So wish I had got the correct product instead of this one.

Catrice Velvet Matt Eyeshadow 3.3gm, full size in Shade Moss Wanted Colour

This is a full size product and I’m sure there are a lot of people who would have loved to get this – unfortunate I prefer warmer bronze or champagne tones for my skin.  This is a cold steel silver gray that doesn’t flatter me at all.

Za Total Hydration Amino Mineral Refreshing Gel – 5gms (reviewed Here)

A really tiny sample size tube of a face gel.  This is nice to have to carry around in your purse as an emergency moisturizer.  I did get a Za face wash in my last box as well, would have preferred another brand

There were a lot of teasers on this box and I was really hoping for either the Givenchy lip colours or the Burts Bees lip treatments, but I am overall not too disappointed because of the Kerastase products.  Still wish I would have gotten the box that was actually curated for me with the L’Occitane Shower gel instead of the Shampoo.

Overall Thoughts

My Envy Box October was a really solid box with some amazing brands – there will be obviously personal preferences on brand and product that may or may not work for all.  The Kerastase products made this clearly Value for Money for me, without them I would have been really disappointed.  Still, this is not half bad, I can use the face gel and pass on the shampoo and eye colour to someone else.
