Top 5 Foundations for Combination Skin

Top 5 Foundations for Combination SkinTop 5 Foundations for Combination SkinI have tried many foundations from various brands and wanted to share my 5 favourites of all time. I have combination-oily skin. Though, I matte finish is more suitable for my skin type, I prefer semi-matte , dewy finish as it looks more natural. I generally look for medium to full coverage.

My Skin Tone- I am NC37 in MAC with olive undertones. Generally, I prefer yellow undertones foundations for myself as it brightens up my face.

Below are 5 foundation that I like and wear them quite often:

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Foundation

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Foundation (Rs 1900 for 30 ml)

I have Sunbeige shade from this range. It has neutral undertones but suits my skin very well. This is a very good foundation for everyday as well as for office wear as it is light weight and very comfortable. The foundation provides semi-matte finish and looks really natural. It has low spf (spf 8) so a sunscreen underneath is very necessary for day time. However, this foundation photographs really well. It provides light to buildable medium coverage and offers a wear time of 7-8 hours.

Clarins True Comfort Light Reflecting Foundation

Clarins True Comfort Light Reflecting Foundation (Rs 1800 for 30 ml)

I have the shade Shell (05) which is a perfect match for my skin. It has yellow undertones. I love the formula. The foundation is oil based but it never broke me out. Instead, it gives a healthy natural look to my face. The consistency is like oil based makeup remover which is watery, runny and has a bit of oil. The foundation is very light and blends effortlessly. It provides dewy finish which is a bit too much for me so I dust off finishing powder after applying this. The foundation has spf15 and it looks really pretty in photographs as well as in person. My only problem with this foundation is the mess created as it has a very runny consistency. It provides medium coverage and stay for about 8-9 hours.

Loreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation

Loreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation (Rs 1250 for 30 ml)

I bought this in the shade 140(golden Beige) having yellow undertones and is a great match to nc37. This is a perfect foundation for me as it provides semi-matte finish. It gives a very polished look to the face. The foundation has neither thick nor runny consistency and is easy to apply. It provides medium to full coverage. However, it feels a bit heavy in the second layer and can transfer to other objects in humid climate. The foundation photographs wonderfully and provides a wear time of 9+ hours which is great.

MUA Fashionista Ready-to-Wear Luminous Foundation

MUA Fashionista Ready-to-Wear Luminous Foundation

I wear this foundation for special occasions. I have this in shade Golden Beige(03) and it suits my skin tone perfectly. I purchased it for £3.00 though it is available for £12.00 which is a total steal.

I totally love this foundation. It provides the most gorgeous finish and looks natural. The coverage is sheer to medium but it adds a healthy glow to my face while providing dewy finish. It is light weight and very comfortable. It photographs really well. Sometimes, it does look dewier so I dust off some compact. It provides a decent wear time of about 7-8 hours.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème Makeup Foundation

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème Makeup Foundation (Rs 800 for 23.7 ml)

I have this foundation in Naturel Ochre. The shade is tad lighter for me but adjusts to my skin tone after a while.

The texture is like whipped crème. It is a dream to apply and blends easily. The foundation provides a flawless finish and very good coverage. It is light weight and very comfortable. This is an apt foundation for all weathers. It provides semi-dewy finis and stays for about 10+ hours. It is a great foundation for bridal wear provided you can finish your shade.Sometimes.it can accentuate flaky skin.

This is my comprehensive list of 5 Foundations for Combination Skin. Have you tried any of these? Which is your favorite?

This is an interesting post since I always have difficulty in finding a proper foundation for my mixed skin. I’ve used Loreal Paris Infallible Lasting Perfecting Foundation for over 2 years (same 140 golden beige) and it’s been nice to me. I’d like to try Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème Makeup Foundation also since it sounds like a good one. The forever pain-in-the-ass is how to choose the right shade for my skin tone. It’d have been perfect if you had price tag with them for comparison. Thanks for sharing.

hi srishti..you need to moisturise your face prior applying it.I generally dot it all over my face and then blend using a sponge. This way I never get streaky or ashy marks.Hope it helped dear..
